hello! I am the "she" who asked the question about big buildings a while ago! thank you very much for this video! there are some precious advice! i do tend to focus on details before drawing the big lines so I end up not being able to draw the whole building in one page. again thanks a lot! :)

You are a great teacher!!!! Loose ink lines are great and idea of not staying withing the lines is what great art is all about!!!

BIG lesson on simplicity - start with the big picture then flow into detail later. I've bookmarked this video for future reference as this is my weakness - not getting the overall picture/perspective first before diving into detail. Thanks Tech!

This was a very useful tutorial, Teoh. The sketches turned out very nice, too. For some reason, a number of your older videos appeared on my KZbin, which I was happy to see. Thx for all your work to produce such helpful videos. Your tutorials are among the best I’ve come across.

Hi, Teoh. Thank you for this video. It was so helpful. I'm just a beginner at pen and ink drawing and I want to do some urban sketching but did not know how to go about it. You are an excellent teacher.

Another great video from you-loved all of the information. A special thanks for all of the reviews you do. I have been following your posts for a long time, and they are the ones I go to for pens, sketchbooks, etc. I was looking at the comments here, and the one where you said you don’t sale your work caught my attention. I have painted for a long time now, and people are always surprised when I say I don’t sale my work-it’s something I do for personal pleasure, which people seem to have a hard time understanding. I love hearing it from you, since you have such a large following. Thanks for everything you do share, it is very much appreciated.

Teoh, thanks a bunch. The way you've demonstrated putting in the big shapes in pencil (not quite so intimidating) is such a big help. I didn't want to get pencils out but I'm now a believer. I'll do it (practice in pencil). Reading some of the other comments, I agree with everyone who talks about your quality videos. Thanks a billion. (I really don't have a billion of anything unless it would be scrapped paintings.) I need to recycle.

+Virginia Owen Don't think of it as perspective. You don't need to know perspective to draw. However knowing perspective can help you check the accuracy of your sketch.

+Reyane Ashtar I cannot remember which pen I used. The ink is Noodlers Bulletproof black ink which is waterproof so it does not smudge with watercolour applied over it.

The Church scene has a bit of curvilinear lines going to the front. And the tents also has curvilinear lines going to the front. That is interesting. A new lesson on how to do that would be cool. Overall, the lessons are informative. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in sketching buildings.
@teohyc8 жыл бұрын
+Katherine Calacday Curvilinear lines work better when the scene is wide and you can see two vanishing points. Usually for one point perspective, it's not necessary to use curvilinear perspective. Besides it's very difficult to detect those lines when drawing from observation. Maybe I will create a tutorial on curvilinear in the future.

Please do cars and boats in perspective. I'm understanding buildings. But my cars and boats are awful. No perspective.
@teohyc8 жыл бұрын
+jasneskis My sketching videos focus on sketching from observation, so I won't know how to draw a boat or car from perspective. However, you don't need perspective to draw boats and cars accurately in perspective. All you need is to be careful to get the proportion and measurements right. Maybe this video will give some hints at how I think kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooPJkmyGltljgrM
