I've had KR surgery in early September, just now starting to get a decent night's sleep. It takes time, this is ny second replacement, I had my left knee done a year ago. I'm a,side sleeper so a sleep with a pillow between my legs ( the operated leg resting on top of the pillow ) it allows the leg to remain straight. My Son is a PT and he insist I do squats to strengthen my quadriceps. And for me it is working. I wish everyone to be pain free as soon as possible because I know this surgery is NO JOKE!

Thanks for watching and for sharing your experience with us all! That is so great to hear you’re getting a good nights rest and you must feel pretty lucky having your son as a PT😉 The nice thing about your situation is that you’ve been there before with having the other knee done which allows you to have more confidence the second time around. Wishing you a fast speedy recovery!

I'm 18 days tkr and have had the worst sleep ever. I try varying methods with pillows from raised to one to none. My Calf pulls if I don't get it right. I've dropped all the original meds as they messed with my brain function and did nothing for pain. So just take 2 pain killers 4 times a day. I get a dull ache in the leg in the night and then I'm really stiff if I have to get up for the bathroom. I'm doing my physio and guess it gets easier day by day. Thanks for your videos they really help. I'm in the UK.

Dr Mike. 69 years old I am 3 weeks post LTKR. Working hard and have 120 degrees ROM! I have low T and prior to surgery was injection 100 ml Testosterone in my upper thigh muscle once a week. Alternating legs. Have not restarted this yet but would like to. Is it ok to use the operated leg for this or should I stick to the non surgical leg?

So no pillows?

Thanks for taking the time to watch this one! If it feels comfortable to use pillows then by all means keep using them but if you support your leg up too high it might be uncomfortable. Play with the support before bed and see how you feel!
