I do use my nuface microcurrent everyday. I am a 51 year woman and I use it all over my face. I do aim on my cheeks more for a lift and directly to my laugh lines and I will tell you this as honestly as I can … it did slightly help me get rid of the deep lines and the appearance of sagging. It never removed it and it didn’t make me a brand new woman 😉 but there was a bit of improvement. Mind you I also started to eat healthier and drink loads of water as well. I hope this helps to anyone out there that searching to improve their laugh lines.

As you said, my experience with retinol is that it doesn't help nasolabial folds, & often makes them worse. One reason for nasolabial folds & marionette folds is because a person has chubby cheeks/chubby face, as opposed to a thin face with less fat naturally. Angela Lansbury, Paul McCartney are two examples. Goldie Hawn and Cindi Lauper are two others. Those chubby cheeks will start falling before the age of 30, in some cases. Audrey Hepburn, OTOH, had a naturally thin face with prominent cheekbones that never got nasolabial folds even after age 60.

I love all your videos- they are very educational and relaxing to listen to in the evenings and also very well put together. However, I disagree on face fitness point. I practice it only for myself for just over 1 year and I absolutely love the lifting effect of it on my smiling area and nasal lines...and I laugh a lot throughout a day,every day. I even took pictures when I only started doing these basic but effective exercises for my face and year later. My friends have also got hooked on face fitness seen my real results. Yes,face fitness and face & head massage are a life time commitment,but the glow in the skin and the blood flow to the face,neck and head area are incredible. Plus posture and stress management and how we sleep on a pillow.....[actually, what do you think of a silk pillow? I haven't tried it yet]. I believe that working on your face muscles is as important, as training your body...I'm in my 40s,but with the body better than many 20-year old ones these days -this is all down to effective training for over 20 decades and thinking of ATPs and health of mitochondria any time I go to the kitchen ;). This is something you touched ,I have been looking for . Unfortunately ,you too didn't mention my specific issue , bothering me from years .I don't normally have these folds but ,I don't know why these immediately appear as well as my sensitive skin doesn't like something such as some cosmetic ,even face wash . For that ,I didn't go for skin care products for years and yet very choosy. Sometimes , my skin gets habitual to the product but sometimes the issue goes on with the product .Would surely love to have your insight .

I've had filler in the NL folds...I think just be careful to not put too much in. If they are flattened completely it would look very strange! The majority of filler was in the deepest spot right in the corner of the nose, as that is where there is bone loss as we age. I was happy with that...and some filler at the top of the cheek bones, right under the muscle. That helps lift the cheeks a touch, reducing the NL lines a little

I started having lines when I was in my early 20s due to an eating disorder and heavy partying. I’ve gotten much healthier now and am seeing these lines slowly fade away with facial exercises. I do certain posing holds on my face naturally without thinking throughout the day and my lines have visibly reduced. I went from people telling me I have a “mature face” for my age, to saying I look like I’m in my early-mid 20s. Upper 20s now. Lifestyle does play a role, but the exercises do too! Along with retinol. Over the span of a year.

This is very interesting. Up until 31 or 32 I hadn't noticed much aging on my face. I went vegan around then and very quickly developed nasolabial folds. It aged me so much but I assumed it was just my time. After about a year I stopped being vegan because a lot of the staple foods like beans, lentils, leafy greens, etc started to irritate my gut so much I couldn't eat enough to get the recommended calories each day. I started eating more eggs, full fat dairy dairy, and red meat then I ever have. I gained all the weight back i lost due to gut issues, and surprisingly my face plumped right back out. I'm 36 now and my face is still smoother than it was for that year as a vegan. It makes me wonder if deficiencies could have caused some bone loss. Or maybe it was just being very underweight. But my weight fluctuates a lot still because my gut is not 100% back to what it was. I've gotten close to being that thin again and they haven't come back at all.

Same happened with me. I was a healthy vegan. No over processed foods. I was constantly exhausted. My face blew up with acne. The corners of my mouth would get so dry and cracked. I stopped being vegan and my face cleared up and I never got cracked lips again. Definitely a nutrient deficiency. Animal products are a must. Even if it's just organic milk products.

You made my day when you said there is a possibility of my facial fat returning where I believe it was lost due to overenthusiastic red light therapy. Of course that is my own fault for overusing but just a chance of it coming back cheers me up because it really did make a huge difference in the gauntness of my face. With the insertion of a few screw threads and some voluma my nasal labial folds are looking much better though. Thanks so much great job once again Dr. Raj !

@@PtolemyXVII well it was a device that told you to leave it on until it shut off which it would stay on for about 2 minutes at a time. But I would hold it on the same area for two or three rounds. Learned my lesson for sure!
@PtolemyXVII3 жыл бұрын
@@hotrod66ify I have read studies that red light is most effective when utilised 3 days in a row (20-40min per session) every 2 or 3 weeks. Using it daily has the opposite effect. Personally I use red light therapy for athletic injuries and it works wonders for me after injury- no bruising, swelling completely disappearing. I have not used it for my face, but red light stimulates cells to repair itself. However overuse of red light could also lead to inhibited cell division hence why I think it should only be used every 2 or 3 weeks, 3 days at a time, which I find works for me, and which I have read in studies as the optimal dosage. After biomodulation with red light, you have to leave cells alone to do their thing.

I've used an at home RF device and that's actually what caused the nasolabial line.. Have to be careful with these devices.. It does tighten the skin really well though so good for jowls. I use a top of the line at home microcurrent device and it doesn't work either but it does help lift the face some.. Lastly I've put in threads and after the initial swelling I don't see a massive change but my skin HAS increased in thickness.. I think the reason why is because I've used mono and screw threads.. You need to use cog threads.. That seems to be the only thing that I've seen that works.. And you're right.. Hydration does help.. Microneedling with HA helps a little bit..
