I will always post more videos if I get some time , my early postings were a bit iffy but hopefully they've improved as I've gone along and learnt a bit more about editing ,sound etc . Thanks again and good luck with your soldering 👍

@@mrsolderfix3996 I seriously slapped myself on the forehead when you spoke of the 2 iron method. I had two irons the whole time and never thought of that. Works perfectly as you would expect after looking at it.

Yep, the way you do it is correct. I watched the video simply to see what you were doing. I’ve been doing this same thing for many years. Consumer electronic products don’t take the time to clean any flux residue off their boards, nor do the manufacturers of office copiers do this.

Thanks for sharing your expertise. Liked and subbed. As a hobbyist I've only done through hole soldering so far, using just the flux contained within the solder. At some point I'm sure I'm going to want to use a chip that's only available in a surface mount package so it's very useful to be able to watch someone who knows how to do it properly. I've bought a practice kit from Amazon for £7, which seems like good value.

Hi , thank you for your comment, much appreciated. The 3 main things to me in soldering to make your life easier are , 1/ Decent soldering iron with a selection of tips , 2/ Different size solders ( vital I personally believe ) , I just posted a video about this exact subject and , 3/ A good flux . The one I've always used is SMFL200D but unfortunately it's recently been discontinued so I'm looking for a new type at this time. When I find a decent alternative I will post about it on KZbin. I've done lots of videos from beginners to advanced , hopefully some of these can help you along your journey . A practice kit is a good idea , good luck with your soldering projects and thanks again for supporting my channel, take care 👍

Great and useful video as usual 😀. I do have a question though: do you need to clean and tin the tip after each joint? If not, after how many joints do you recommend to clean and tin the tip?
@mrsolderfix3996
@mrsolderfix3996 2 жыл бұрын
Hi , thank you for watching the video , much appreciated. When it comes to cleaning the soldering tip during for instance the soldering of a row of IC pins , It varies really , sometimes i can do a whole side of a 100 pin QFN without having to clean it , but likewise I may have to clean it after a few joints . You tend to know after a while when the right time to clean the tip is . So there's not really an easy answer for your question. Hope that helps a little , thank you again and good luck with all your soldering projects 👍

Hi , thank you for your comment, very much appreciated. Hi , I do live just outside London so you are definitely right about the accent. The reason I have a Brazilian flag is because when I first started posting videos a couple of years ago most of my views were coming from Brazil ( I don't know why ) so I just decided to choose their flag as it looked good and was the right colours for boards etc. I've just stuck with it and will never change it now. So I definitely haven't moved to Brazil but maybe one day I will try and visit it. Thanks again for your support and carry on enjoying living in Brazil 👍

@@mrsolderfix3996 I have lived in Stanmore, Harrow and ultimately Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. I love the South of Brazil; food is better, climate is better and at least I can afford a nice house! I do work with through hole and SMD a lot at my service centre (have done for 35 years now), but never really used solder mop until I saw your videos; and it is, really great for cleaning up. I am a bit frightened of BGA devices, but may well have a go on a scrap board now. Cheers for the instruction!

Hi mate - i really enjoyed your video series on SMD soldering! - thanks very much for uploading them to KZbin! - mate, just wondering how you make the video zooming into your work?? - and do you use a type of microscope/camera and use that to see what you are doing?
@mrsolderfix3996
@mrsolderfix3996 2 жыл бұрын
Hi , thank you for your comment and for watching the videos , much appreciated. To do the filming I just attach a macro lens to my phone camera then place it near the work taking place , this gives me different angles than people who use an overhead microscope camera. I do use a microscope for some of the work in the videos as it's so small . Hope that helps . Thanks again for your support 👍

Dear sir video very good for us. But please help me with two types of SMD. which I can't find in the catalog. 34DG and L44. I don't know what they are! Transistors or diodes. I'm waiting for your answer, if you're good and want to help me. Thank you so much!
@mrsolderfix3996

Hi . I've checked L44 out for you , it can be a range of SOT 23 , Bat54S diodes , impossible for me to tell you what one you need as there are different ones , also L44 can be seen as the top marking on regulators so I really can't help you with this . You need to get your schematics of the board and go from there. As for 34DG , I've gone to all the sites I know and they all have no record of this code so again can't help you with this one , good luck , thank you

Hi , thank you for your comment, much appreciated. The flux I have used for many years is SMFL200D and I really loved this stuff. It came in a spray can , but I used to squirt a tiny amount into a small mik bottle lid then use a dipped plastic cable tie to apply it . This worked great for me over many years . Unfortunately though the flux has recently been discontinued so I'm currently looking for a suitable replacement. When I find one I will post about it on KZbin.
