Back in the Day , once upon a time studio musicians that had no music to follow asked Chet Atkins what to play when it was time for the lead run. Chet's response was , follow the melody. Somehow that has been lost on lead guitarists these days. When it's time for lead they are off shredding notes like there's no tomorrow.
