I'm liking all the variations on line/dot puzzles you've shared lately.

As a Slitherlink addict... 12 seconds into the video and I'm already in love with this puzzle. Fleb, if you mention it later in the video feel free to ignore this, but where can I find more of these?? :)

Thought I had no chance off understanding this puzzle at first but once you broke it down into easier bits I was finding it much easier to do, love this videos and this series great work

That makes me really happy to hear, Martin. I hope that it helps with your future puzzle solving!

Thanks, dude. You have the best explanation of this. I've seen a bunch of those by now. I'll subscribe just to help you, my man. Thank you one more time

Could you film a video about speed solving?

I'd like to thank you for introducing the loop puzzle, I had a lot of fun solving them. I found some hybrid or rule variation puzzles are particularly difficult, maybe you can show us some technique to solve them?

So cool! Is there an app/website where we can solve Wolves and Sheep in Fences puzzles?

Could you explain the logic behind the move you made at 7:10? Is it just because you know the last line segment you had drawn is going to have to connect to the 3 to the upper right and so it can't go down?
@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
Exactly! If that line goes down, the 3 can have a maximum of two line segments.

Maybe next time you can share some Yajilin puzzles. I have a hard time with "7C Majilin" puzzle in LMI November 2011 puzzle championship "Puzzle Fusion".

Thanks for the lesson, used to love logic puzzles as a kid. Any magazine-type puzzle books you'd reccomend?

So what puzzles from the Hunt this year do you think you might do a video on? (Good job to you and all of D&M/L&O, by the way.) I have some suggestions for what sample to provide. I think you know which two I mean.
@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure! I haven't seen even close to all of the hunt puzzles! I edited a bunch of them early on, but once my daughter was born, I didn't much to help until the actual day of the hunt. I might cover one that I helped edit!
@GasparLewis7 жыл бұрын
That would be excellent! In that case I won't spoil which ones I mean, but I think you'll recognize them quickly. They'd definitely be... something different.

You might want to check out "Loopy", a game in the Ubuntu "logic games" collection. It is slitherlink, but allows several different types of non-square grids (triangular, honeycomb, octagons, even Penrose tilings).

I saw one different version of this puzzle. The difference is 4 of the sheeps are actually concealed wolves but I couldn't cracked it :/

Does KZbin let you upload in 4K? I didn't know that! (Not that I have a 4k camera yet, but still)

Looks like a fun one! I look forward to giving some a shot this evening. Have you played Stephan’s sausage roll? It’s a Sokoban-style puzzle game I started playing after hearing that Jonathan Blow, creator of The Witness highly recommend it. It’s super challenging and fun despite having terrible graphics.

I have! I'll probably make a video about it this year. Great game, with some very interesting design. I had a question for you, actually. I never managed to finished the "New Year's Masyu". I solved the logic puzzle and got the phrase, but I don't know what to do with the phrase. Can I get a hint?
@Robertlavigne17 жыл бұрын
Nice! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it. Yeah I wasn't sure if I made to big of a leap with that puzzle. A hint would be I put the clock image on the page to try and help get people thinking about squares in the right direction.

I like that you explain why you do something. Sometimes I get a couple of steps further but kind of on instinct level, not being able to tell why. Also: the first thing I would do is shading all the sheeps and circling the wolves ;D
@rmsgrey7 жыл бұрын
My first step is usually to sweep around the edge - any sheep on the edge give you fences, any wolves on the edge give you blocked edges, and any numbers in the corners give you something. After that, I'll look for 0s, clusters of 3s, and sheep next to wolves in the interior. One of the things I look for when I start feeling stuck is 2s with nearby information - of the four neighbours of a 2, two have to be the same shade; the other two have to be the other shade (that is, two will be inside the loop and the other two will be outside, regardless of whether the 2 itself is inside or outside) so if you know that two of its neighbours are inside, you can immediately mark the other two as outside (and vice versa).

Kevin Milligan Im glad he put that in, it really helped clear things up
@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
Oh man, I didn't notice I did that. I was actually very confused by your comment, but I see it now! I think I meant to write "inside".
Anyone knows of any app for this puzzle? Since the beggining of this logic puzzles series I always look for them in the playstore, but I can't find any for this.
@FLEBpuzzles7 жыл бұрын
It's not a puzzle type that people have made 100s of. For competitions like this, a lot of the puzzles are one-offs, with rulesets that are created just for the competition.
