Can't believe that you can't even buy a hard tail strat from Fender or Squire nowadays without paying for the custom shop. It makes it harder to build your own piece by piece. Take a look at what people are selling their replica Billy Corgan Strats for online, its insane!

This was actually pretty solid. 2 changes I'd make: -use a strat with lace sensor pickups, not hot rails -use a big muff, ideally the op-amp version (EHX just released a new one they designed w Billy Corgan) Good job overall though, def nailed the pumpkins vibe

The background guitar in "1979's" chorus was actually an acoustic guitar ran through some small sounding amp with minor distortion and this gave it that floating harmonic sound when he strums the A chord in the "shake these zipper blues" part. You can hear it here in their FX track along with Billy's vocal effects as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnPGiHSvmdanpdk

EHX has re-issued the op amp big muff pi. it'as available now for about 80 bucks. And billy says they got it right. buy it. use a modern low noise strat with lace sensors or noiseless pickups. stick it into low gain on your amp. Tweak the big muffs tone knob until it sounds RIGHT. there you go. add on a phaser when needed. done. :)
