Hey buddy, wanted to ask, I recently increased our Bandwidth through our ISP. We upgraded to about 470mbps download and about 25 upload. On my ps4 test I'll get 100 to 260 down but I'm still only getting an average of about 3 to 6mbps upload speed. What's the bottle neck? The 470 and 25 mbps is what we get on a speed test of the modem provided by Spectrum. So on our router what should I set the speeds too? 50%-70% of the 470 and 25mbps? Thanks for your help in advance.

The bottlneck is PSN itself and the limitations of the PS4s hardware. All the speed tests and handled through PSN and are not local like Ookla SpeedTest

Hmmm, I thought I had seen in one of your vids doing a speed test and getting like 100-200 upload speed.

It's all over the place. I've got as high as like 600Mbps and as low as 1Mbps just depending on how PSN is feeling. There is no secret. Some people have recommended using a VPN to bypass PSN and have got better speeds. I personally have no experience with one and would not recommend a VPN for real time gaming, however I could see how it would benefit for downloads, bandwidth etc. My best advice is just using a wired connection and have a good router. As long as everything is good on your end, the rest is PSN's fault

Port forwarding is going to be more reliable and accurate. UpNp is an express port forwarding that works and it's the easiest but it's not as good as manual port forwarding. Most people will be fine with just UpNp unless their network setup is very complex

My sons ps4 his connection speed down is 57.4 mbps and connection speed upload is 85.9 kbps and his NAT TYPE SAYS TYPE 3 my other sons NET TYPE SAYS TYPE 2 his connections speeds are about the same.. I don't understand anything about routers and modems I watch movies on apps on my roku and I have issue's sometimes with my wifi. I called spectrum and they tell me my wifi and that is fine. I set it up and at first it worked good now I have to turn it off then back on again.. I paid over $80 for it it's a netgear nighthawk. I thought if I got that I could be like 20 or more feet away from it and be fine. My 2 boys are only in the same room with the modem and router. I just need someone to tell me why my wifi is so slow. My mom just moved in a house we bought. It's a small 1 bedroom house with a small livingroom,and bedroom as well as the kitchen and other room. She moved in after her husband died. She wanted internet and called spectrum and got it. The wifi box they give you sits below the tv in the living room and even her wifi is slow.. I don't know if spectrum gives u the slowest internet just so u can pay more for better internet. I think spectrum that bought time warner cable it's a company that rips people off.. Where I live they just started this. If you call them for any reason they charge you $5 to talk to someone if u have an issue. So I'm not paying them 5 dollars just to tell me everything is fine. When I know its not. I never had any issue or slow wifi when u had time warner cable.. Sorry this is so long. I just wanted to put this all out and hope someone might understand why my wifi is slow even my moms is and she only has her roku to watch movies off of. It's the same reason I just have wifi. Cause i can watch movies on apps i have and don't have to pay a big cable bill.. sorry for my english

I had a similar problem. PS4 Slim, my phone and SMART TV switched between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz on its own, and this is because the optical and internet service provider left me only one Wi-Fi network when connecting the optics (together they were 2.4 and 5 GHz on one) instead of two (one 2.4 GHz and the other 5 Ghz). I called the provider, gave my information and they set up 2 wi-fi networks for me over the phone in a few minutes. Everything is OK now. I have smartphones on 2.4 GHz, and the TV, Laptop and PS4 Slim on 5 GHz.

doubtful. it's most likely your distance to the servers or P2P connections. Or having low bandwidth on your home network and your gaming traffic is not prioritized. Or when using wifi the ping is usually not very stable. there are a lot of factors
