The best way to enjoy the Dolomites is not to drive and move around too much. Find a nice village with a good lift system, and take daily excursions in different directions. We stayed in Val Gardena, which has a great lift system, and spent five glorious days hiking all around the neighboring passes and villages. It was fantastic!
