There are a few glass studios in & around Seattle that offer classes that usually last 2-3 hours but you get to create your own glass art pieces to take home. You can do pieces like bowls and vases but they also have a lot more options like pumpkins, xmas ornaments & more. You'll get to choose what you want to make, what color and so on. It's a fun experience that you are walked through each step along the way. You do need enough time to both do the class but also come back like a week later to pick it up once it has enough time to cool down. It's a really fun experience and I still keep my bowl on my coffee table

Hi... single older woman here. I live in downtown Seattle and take transit (as I live car-free). Lots of walking around alone. Like any city, don't go wandering down alleys and learn the areas that are a little sketchy. In downtown Seattle there are a couple of corners to avoid or cross through very quickly... mostly at night. Pre-pandemic I spent a lot of time until midnight wandering through downtown. The only reason I don't now is that there are fewer places open that late and fewer people wandering around. Like anything, know the area, keep alert, be smart. Also, hotels here just cost a lot... we have an expensive city, but we also pay people a (more) decent wage.
@lynnlewis572816 күн бұрын
@EricaGamet if the businesses in Seattle paid lower wages it wouldn't help now. But, just think a minute the higher the wages paid the less people that some employers can hire full time employees. One person is now expected to do the job of what 2 or 3 people had to do after the higher wages went into affect. Higher wages wasn't the answer to solve the problems it made it worse higher cost for rents, 1 person getting less hours and doing twice or three times what used to need done in 4 hours shifts. Employees at McDonald's and other fast food restaurants now making over $16 an hour. It wasn't just inflation that raised the cost of the fast food chains food cost it was also employers having to raise the cost of there food they serve. Because, of having to pay there employees such a high minimum wage. It's not cheaper to eat at McDonald's anymore than it would be to get a set down meal at a restaurant. Cause even fast food drive thru's are asking for a tip if you see on a debit or credit card receipts. I'm not tipping a drive thru employee are u?
