I want to use this function to add text to an object to color later in a render. Rhino is not letting me move that split face to a new layer. How would I do this?

but when i use split face on my surface object and cut it with multiple poonts curve and when i hit enter it removed the center surface instead of just splitting it without deleting, I just literally used "split face" but when i enter, it removes the face in the center, i don't know why, but when i try another face object with low points it's working.

how do i assign a different material for each face of the same object?

Is there an option in Rhino where you can change the pivot point of the object just like in Blender and move the object on to a surface or mesh?
