How to split screen into two desktops on Samsung 49 inch ultrawide monitor - LC49HG90DMUXEN

If you struggled with conference calls and screen sharing due to pure awesomeness of the craziest of resolution this quick fix should sort fo you.
You will need two cables to your GPU and plug them both to your fancy monitor in order to get it to work.

Thank you very much Les your video was EXTREMELY HELPFUL, I was using 3 27 inch monitors and a 50 inch tv conected con my video card, then I bought the monitor and a 3080 videocard for gaming, I was considering having 1 27 inch, the ultra wide and the 50 inch tv, but the ultra wide is too wide...hehehe so I sold the 3 27 inch monitors... and man I did struggle a lot when using zoom, had to connect my 50 inch tv again, share that screen which was annoying, I will try that immediately and connect the minidigiport and the digiport to my video card and work from that... thanks I may use the 3 button setting to switch between 1 monitor or 2 monitors, or even having my pc in one and an external laptop as the other input, amazing my friend thank you very much.

Thank you for this, I have another question can you make a hotkey or anything or a shortcut so you don't have to press so many buttons to turn the 2nd display on and off? I'm hoping theirs a way you can just press a single button and it will split the screen which would example show one from the laptop and the other half your main computer. I also want to know when you split the screen will windows that you had open lets on on the side of the screen that will change to the other input for the laptop will all those windows opened shift over to the proper side now? I'm curious when you have windows open utilizing all the width of the monitor but then split it in half where all the other windows that are open go?

I just bought this monitor and when I split them using PBP (Display Port and Mini Display Port), both sides look really stretched out. The only resolution that looks kind of good is for both to be at the maximum resolution and then both running 16:9 looks strange when maximized. I don't want one bigger than the other. So please tell me what is the best resolution for both sides of the screen. Thanks in advance

Question: If I connect both cords into a display port hub, can that impact the resolution of one of the split screens? The left side is perfectly clear, the right side has a poorer resolution. When I pull up advanced settings, the right side actually has a lower resolution option than the left. Is that due to the hub? Or something else?

Hi, glad the video helped!This samsung monitor, although gorgeous only displays two fhd side by side - 3840 x 1080 .I am happy with that but its nowhere near what new 4K monitors can do. The LG 49 WL95C has much higher resolution at 5120 x 1440 and it has built in speakers while my samsung does not.

Hi Thanks for this video. I am trying to connect my thinkpad and dell laptop to CJ890 49 inch curved monitor. I have connected my thinkpad to one hdmi port and I am able to use only one laptop. Mine has only one hdmi port and couple of usb type c ports. when I click on pip button it is asking for displayport. samsung provided usb type c to usb type c and usb type c to normal usb connector which is of no use to me. could you please clarify on how can I connect my second laptop.

For this application I use a Logitech G keyboard and mouse. They have a dongle and is Bluetooth capable. You pair the dongle with one computer and then connect the other with Bluetooth. What’s neat about it is that there is a button on the keyboard and mouse to switch between the two.

I tried, one workstation output 2 display ports to the screen samsumg g9, setup pbp. But the windows display setting only treat this monitor as one monitor,. no option to choose extend or duplicate the 2nd monitor.

sorry for late reply. Yes, you just use two ports on your 1080 - it can be one hdmi, and one DisplayPort, or two displayports leading to mini DisplayPort and full DisplayPort. ANy way really that it will allow two digital cables to run to monitor.

Hi, just got this monitor. mine has 1 hdmi a 2 dp ports. im having trouble connecting a mac and a windows laptop in PBD mode. whatever I connect with hdmi appears but on dp port no. now both laptops accept hdmi so one is hdmi to hdmi and the other one connect via an hdmi to dp cable any idea why?

You would want each screen to be set at 2560x1440 pixels, effectively cutting the G9 display perfectly in half. This is the standard resolution of a 1440p display.

If the two hdmi coming from same pc, it will not work, windows just recognize one monitor, you cannot extend the multiple monitors

Les, One side works -- and I got an adapter to convert to HDMI, but the second half of the screen still flashes "Check the cable connection and the settings of the source device. Display Port 2". Yes, PBP is set correctly. Any tips?

If not, when I share my screen using Zoom/WerbEx/etc., everyone will see my full-blown width. When I share an app/browser, they still get my full-blown screen.
