This video has edited captions in English, to correct auto-captions for my accent etc.
My name is Xanthe.
My diagnoses include bipolar 1 disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified (PDD-NOS). Psychiatrist said I am 'on the autism spectrum' with 'clinically significant autism spectrum features' but said I don't meet full criteria for either Aspergers or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnoses.
(New Zealand used both DMS-IV and DSM-V).
This list was started by advocate Shell Spectrum. I have modified and added to it.
Shell has corrected me (sorry, memory lapse) and said she has been an autism advocate online for 20 years.
Both Shell and I have had clinically significant features since childhood and we both criticise the neurodiversity movement for the harm it has done for egos and profit, at the expense of those who do have significant impairment and disability.
I call 'neurodiversity' version (mostly self-diagnosed) autistics 'nautistics', as they have nothing in common with the original criteria. I call the charlatans who make money from this 'fraudistics.'
Also see part 2.

yes ! im glad someone is speaking on this, i am so sick of these people identifying as autistic when in reality, they are simply a little socially awkward, shy, or eccentric, that dont mean ya got the 'Tism LOL. between this crap, this insane need to be ''special' and stand out, and be a victim, and we also have the fact that autism is over-diagnosed due to the fact that there are other conditions that mimic autistic traits,or have some autistic like characteristics. (warning, long but it impossible to explain in a couple of sentences: It baffles me to no end why some people WANT to be disabled, labeled as disabled and they want to be dependent on adult social services for ‘’care’’. As someone who was misdiagnosed years ago as '' retarded'' and autistic'', only to find out 30 odd years later when i was around 38 years old after being re tested and evaluated, that i was not delayed, or autistic, my challenges and ''traits'' were due to a couple of learning / processing disorders: in fact, i found out i am actually somewhat advanced. i am here to tell you that, you do not want a DX such as autism or developmental / cognitive delays: because it ruins and grossly limits your life. i was in the adult social services system for 20 years, and now : im out even though i have correct DX now, ( been out for 4 and a half years) i spent all those years basically, ''institutionalized'' yes, they had started home and community services by then as that was becoming more common than putting people in homes, halfway houses, facilities, etc. but its still institutionalization, i still spent 98 percent of my time with paid social workers and case workers; and very disabled people, i was treated as and for the most part considered incompetent: i had missed out on real world experiences like being consistently and long term employed, i missed out on being active ongoing in the job market and business world, i have no relevant skills for today's job market despite trying EVERYTHING, im not able to work, or really function in the world, i have never been able to build long term relationships because i did not have those opportunities to develop that in my young adult years, i am a confident person, i have continually put myself out there socially and employment wise and i have not to this day had any success or progress: long story short; these diagnoses are a death sentence and they robbed me of a chance at a normal life, had a been DX'd in my younger years correctly with the learning and processing disorders, i would most likely have had accommodations and work-arounds that would have led me to more potentials for success, i would have had opportunities that are not afforded to folks, especially back in the day, who are diagnosed as autistic and or mentally slow / delayed.

@@Shannonbarnesdr1 I even avoid saying I am "disabled" (might say "have disabilities). As so many people have jumped onto the disability as an identity bandwagon too. Skipping the impairments part & saying it's only from society. Yes, it is a culture of victimhood. Good point that can be misdiagnosed with autism.

I call it fauxtism.

Apparently it's trendy now to call it "the 'tism". Fauxtism is more accurate.

I call it ''new age autism'', it' an identity label, but naughtism is more precise.

They make up a bunch of words, so why can't we? Noughtism/Nautism for NDM version "autism" that has nothing to do with diagnostic criteria. Fraudtistics for the charlatans profiting from this whole thing.
