I got flashbacks to my INTP ex at that point. I'm ENFP btw.... If your stuff doesn't pass my inner compass I don't care how right you are, it still does feel wrong to me. 😂 We had the worst arguments. If one of you hooks up with an ENFP, even if you have to bite your tongue of, just accept that stuff needs to pass our value system and inner compass please. You can be factually right, but it can still feel wrong to us, thus we don't like it/want to do it. I never felt as great and as terrible in a relationship. I love you hermits with beautiful minds, but please don't do this until you seriously hurt people, because they aren't right enough for you and you try to change them.

People don't understand this and think it comes from a place of ego. It's not. Admitting you're wrong isn't an issue here, at least for me, it's about fixing the incorrect belief or information after you find out you're wrong. Hence probably why we're usually right about a lot of things

Right=accurate to an INTP. It's not their personal opinion. It's what reality is.
@thisone2522
@thisone2522 3 жыл бұрын
@@AndyZach disagree. In the context of a disagreement/argument/debate, "right" is used to describe trying to force your way into the winner's circle by whatever means necessary. Te users want for there to only be one "right" answer and they want it to come from them, and they try to shoehorn complex concepts into black and white ideas, ignoring nuance, in order to make this so. ENTPs want to have the final idea, that no one can contest (either due to running out of ideas themselves or sheer fkng exhaustion). That is what people hear when you say "INTPs want to be 'right.'" And because I like to be accurate, I can't let that stand. 😄
@AndyZach

@@thisone2522 We're thinking of different contexts. I'm only thinking of conforming to reality, what actually exists. You're thinking of some kind of debate/competition arena. True, in the area of competition, ENTJs tend to think 'whatever it takes to win'--but that is not an absolute. ENTJs also are ruled by reality and must conform to it. I'm speaking of INTPs, based upon my daughter, and ENTJs, based upon myself. I'm not sure where ENTPs came from. Perhaps you can explain.

I think that expectations can be one of the most harmful things in life.

INTPs are wise because they observe. They can somehow spend most of their time in their head, yet they aren't oblivious to the world around them. I know a lot more than people think I do about how others act. INTP's are great at gathering information from the slightest thing and dissect details from it. Cpl Myles...thank you for saying this! I feel as though it was one big thing missing from the video. I’ve found that, even when you come across some INTPs who have a hankering for being the one to give the right answer, if you lay out a sound argument/theory/evidence, they adjust and factor consideration of any new information into their processing (in order to get to the greater truth/idea theory, above all). Even the ones with “ego” per se will give ground to something that is sound, even as they continue to back parts of their original argument. I love our flexibility!

damn yeah that one pulls us right out. There are a lot of factors that play into whether something is true or not tho, so what is true for one individuals life may work for them but not for others. But then that would negate the actual meaning of "truth." Truth is objective and is not influenced by what someone believes or thinks. Someone may say "this is my truth" and still be completely incorrect. Just because its the idea you believe doesn't make it THE truth. Also truths can not work against each other without at least one being partially wrong.

I often read that INTPs don't care a lot about how they dress and that is a thing that doesn't apply to me. I'm not interested in trends or fashion, but I always try to be elegant. What you said really makes sense though, we always dress "the same". I'm always "elegant" which for a person in my position means always wearing shirts, pants, classic shoes and other classic pieces depending on the weather. I really care about how I dress, but mostly for myself, and I always dress "elegant" it doesn't matter if I'm going to a restaurant or to throw out the rubbish. So, as I said, what you stated in this video makes more sense than what I usually read, is not that we don’t care about how we dress, is that we always dress more or less the same, we seek consistency in the physical realm.

Then again, when i was diagnosed with autism, i was told my the specialist representative that there's a slight overlap between ADD and Autism. For example, if you try to make a person with hyperfocus try to change their focus, you're not going to be very successful, and since they're not paying attention to what YOU want them to focus on, they get misdiagnosed with ADD, there are a few more examples, but that's the basic jist of it. :P And yes, this is apparently a very common occurrence... Intp's speak quickly when they are excited about discussing anything in the mental realm. That is their play area. They become alive and posit their theories unreservedly. They don't mind examining several sides of an issue with the one they're conversating with, but they've usually already run this line of thinking through their systematic analysis and they will lean towards an idea and enjoy debating it with you, if you seem intelligent enough to spar with. Infp's appear dreamy and stoic unless they know you and can feel comfortable with you. Then they can be animated and playful or romantic and whimsical taking delight in their imaginative realm and the emotions it inspires within them. They can be quite witty and have a well of wisdom they have gained from observing life which they will share spontaneously and often in little tasty morsels. They speak more slowly than intp's and are focused on expressing their values and interests. They can be quite philosophical and are intelligent, but their philosophical musings are related to their passions and interests, whereas the intp will enjoy discussing, disseminating, and throwing out bits of random knowledge on a wide variety of topics.

Being a “T” started as a survival mechanism for enduring my emotions/trauma and now I’m more INTP, but still have a lot of the INFP traits from my youth. I still have a strong emotional intelligence, although I often consciously choose to bypass emotions. Also, the way I approach spirituality, creativity, and many other areas are strongly INFP. The qualities are not so much rigid boxes as they are a spectrum. What’s more, as the development of your brain and personality continue almost to 29, it is definitely possible to see your personality evolve.

I tried to take the advice of keeping things simple and trying to embrace my mental strengths, but in practice I was neglecting my Se and pushing myself deeper into a rut, believing I was doomed to mediocrity and frustration. Once I figured out I'm ISTP, I've been a lot happier knowing my true strengths, and I've instead started taking the much more appropriate advice of shaking things up and not overthinking as much. I've gotten better at recognizing true INTPs in contrast to myself as well. So if you keep getting INTP test results but you don't feel satisfied with it, it's possible the tests are wrong and you need to try and figure it out for yourself.

Then there's the weird sleeping habits Not sleeping for an entire day Only to sleep for 14hours the next day Waking up at 11pm like it's somehow the normal thing to do And then there's the infamous INTP Autopilot In the middle of a conversation , your mind just yeets off into the distance following whatever thought distracted you

@@hnd1305 People say the test gives them mixed results. I personally think that most people choose answers that portray the image of them as they want to be portrayed as, instead of choosing answers that reflect how they would ACTUALLY react in certain situations. Sometimes people choose the answers based on their emotions. Also a lot of people don't bother to educate themselves about the cognitive functions, which may be responsible for results being mixed. But that's just my point.

If you want to figure it out fast, study inferior Te vs inferior Fe because naturally we are way better in identifying our weaknesses. The differences between Fi & Ti can be tricky though (finding your default mode is the hardest part!)

INTP here. I try to take care of my body ( I'm a self-preservation type) I like to look nice and beautiful, I have a good sense of fashion. I'm interested in developing & constantly practicing EQ skills. I have a consistent sleep routine. Hope some INTPs can relate with me😔🙏 ( I kinda feel left out bc of the representations of INTPs I see in the internet)

I try to be this way and can usually succeed. But its just really easy for me to accidentally forget to eat or loose track of time and not go to bed until well into the night. I do care about style and EQ though, I've loved fashion since I was little and like learning about EQ (even if it sucks putting into practice lol)

Correction is important. I’m having a seemingly difficult time romantically even though I take the correct steps. Even good results aren’t satisfying. It’s hard if you can’t just be yourself completely and let everything out. It’s even more difficult if the people you’re around only care about the physical world and nothing beyond on a macro and micro scale. We’re in a world surrounded by unaware robots but we’re the robots. The irony could make an individual commit mindless actions that solve nothing. I’m only satisfied with peace at this point so I stop going deep into details in person or when I’m texting people. 😞

I feel ya...my answer was to find some relief in INTP groups. I don’t date there, but it is such a joy to converse with people who understand the way your mind works. I’m sure there are some others that do date there, even other types who just appreciate INTPs

There's something profound to learn from what you're experiencing dude. If you ever find yourself unable to speak your mind, freely, out of fear that someone is gonna take it the wrong way or get offended or whatever... That means you've already determined the person you're speaking to, to be incompatible with you, they're not a real friend, they're some fake-ass acquaintance masquerading as a friend. :S

My Doctor: You need to eat more beans to help with digestion. More vegetables wouldn't hurt either. Me, an INTP who hasn't been to the doctor in 10 years because I hate going outside and making appointments: These Chicken Nuggets (that are easy to cook and delicious to eat) I've been eating (all the time for years) are bean shaped. Ketchup is a vegetable, right? Therefore, I am eating beans and vegetables. I don't see the problem.
