Hi, Laura, love your style! Thanks for the tip to use flannel. I've done 8 quilt tops, dreading the sandwiching, as always did them on the floor. Now I'm in an RV but I have a 6' folding table. I'm going to try the spray basting, too. Maybe I'll get these tops done yet!

I just had to let you know, I shared your lovely tip about the wavy line for quilting, with one of my sewing groups, 'Madam Sew' . It went over very well and they allowed me to put a link to this video in my comments. I could not take credit for your suggestion. Please feel free to do more videos on any other programed stitches you come across that are good for quilting. This one was a real hit with myself and many of the others. Thanks again

What a wonderful video. You do an amazing job with your tutorials. I do have one question. Where would I find clamps that can hold the flannel taut for two 6 ft banquet tables that are pushed together. My husband advices a "big box" store but your large clips look more suitable for fabric and such. Thanks again!

ok we will not tell him he is correct... but I did get them form the hardware store.

Hi Laura, I'm loving all your videos. Do you use this same method with a large quilt if you have to do it alone? Most of the demos I've seen on spray basting are done on hands and knees. There is no way I can do that. This looks doable for a smaller quilt, but I'm not sure how I would manage with a large one. I'm very new to quilting and haven't even completed my first quilt yet. You are inspiring me though!
@SewVeryEasy7 жыл бұрын
Glad to hear that, and thank you. As for doing a larger quilt, try this...fold it in half lengthwise and in half width-wise, you now can work on a quarter at a time.Hope that helps

You said that you wash all the quilts after using. Do you use delicate cycle? What about liquid softener and/or drier softener towels? Thank you
@SewVeryEasy5 жыл бұрын
I do like to wash my quilt in a cold delicate wash with a mild soap and a little liquid softener (one that you would use on children's clothing) and I dry it until it is almost dry and then lay it flat to finish drying :)

Can I use this to quilt without a frame? I have quilted 2 without a frame and always basted them but it takes 2-3 days to do a thorough job. Will it hold up to being folded and unfolded. scrunched up alot while traveling and quilting? Possibly 4 months?
@SewVeryEasy6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have left it for a few months and when I went back to it is was fine. I have scrunched it up and it was fine. I do like to pin base the edges just for extra security, it helps it not roll back:)

Great vid, thank you so much ... Did you spray the top & put it on the batting or did you spray the batting....I am thinking it would be better to spray the top rather than the batting as don't want all the spray going into the batting plus it would stick better...not sure..

🌺🌸 Hi and thanks a lot for this very useful tutorial. I work very slowly and I’m wondering how long the spray can hold without basting pins. Also, do you use a special kind of needle, like a Teflon one so it does get gummed up?
@marietteforget78042 жыл бұрын
I have just found out that 505 will last 4 months on polyester and 6 months on coton/ natural fabrics. 🌺🌸

You are right be wary of any product that sprays under pressure because of the chemical used as a propellant in the can. I used to use these sprays outside with a chemical filter mask.
