I just use a coat hanger for suspending the rifle, it means there's a small spot that gets missed, but oh well, I'm not going for pretty. The counter shading is something I'd never heard mentioned before and is something I'll be adding.

Looks great! The only, and I mean ONLY thing I noticed is that muzzle device looks like it’s threaded for a suppressor. If it’s never going to be suppressed or it’s just a standard flash hider then no big deal, but if it’s a suppressor host, it’s a good practice to tape the muzzle device up. It will avoid the chance (albeit a slim chance) that it could affect the suppressor lockup just enough to create a baffle strike. Ask me how I know😂

You're speaking to the master of learning about expensive mistakes by personally making them haha. My buddy is adding a suppressor so hopefully he doesn't have any issues 🤞

@@CityBillyAdventures if he hits the muzzle device with some paint remover and gets that paint off of there, shouldn’t be any concerns with a suppressor lol

That's fair. Missed opportunity by me. I was hoping the final shot / conclusion would be a good representation but it was really sunny and didn't turn out like I'd hoped.

Did you consider using a dark green base to match the fern and leaves(not saying you did it qrong, just curious?) If you did what motivated you to use a light base color? I do like that dark top and light bottom -- that was a smart move...

Depending on how many stencils and additional colors you use, the base color usually ends up being the least-seen color. I wanted the gun to be mostly dark, so I went light first, then dark, with the OD on top. The OD is still dark enough but that color "pops" the most.

how do to this. 1st step: go sell your firearm because this is the dumbest shit a person can do to a firearm. Paint is not made for guns. DO NOT do this. I've been a gunsmith and Cerakote applicator for 10 years and I can't even begin to tell you how many people absolutely fucked their guns up with this dumb shit. Just dont. Find a Cerakote applicator in your area and get it done properly. Again. Paint is NOT for firearms. there are tolerances you'll fuck up. mechanisms you'll gum up. the paint wont stay in place very long. when the barrel gets hot, the paint will fail, etc etc. there are a million reasons this is a super stupid move. But go on, you were saying...

Hey! Not even 48 hours in and we've snagged our first angry comment section expert! Sir you are clearly way smarter than me, but that's not that hard to do. But stop wasting precious time educating my dumbass and call all the special forces and police tactical units that have been rattle-canning their guns for years and let them know they're all idiots too! Side note: Cerakote is a very nice product.

Weird, people have managed to rattle can their rifles for years without issues. It's almost as if covering up the internals prevents them from being gummed up. If you actually use your rifle cerakote will get messed up too. The nice thing about paint is that when it wears down you can just reapply it in a few minutes and be good to go. But hey, I get it, you have your business to think of so you would much rather people come to you and give you money rather than just take care of it themselves

Breaking news: cerakote applicator says to stop painting your guns in 10 minutes with $20. Instead, let him have your gun for weeks and hundreds of dollars
