THP Strength and Kneesovertoesguy have the best coaching by far (I would put myself in that category as well because I do more coaching as well as programming). But as far as the best "program", it would be Vert Code Elite by far. Second would be The Flight System by Overtimeathletes. Best body weight program is Vert Code body weight.

@bernardoazevedo6894 жыл бұрын
Loved the video! Why should we do first eccentric focus squats, and then isometrics and not the other way around?
@NathanaelMorton4 жыл бұрын
You definitely could do the other way around, but I like eccentrics first because they are safer to learn than the isometrics. The isometric phase utilizes a fast drop and a quick deceleration which could get dangerous if people don’t know what they’re doing. So that first eccentric phase gets people familiar with squats and changing speed/direction.

@Leonidas-eu9bb4 жыл бұрын
1st: MU recruitment is NOT only dependend on weight. It's effort. 2nd: what really make the difference of bad, good and elite athletes is 'ratecoding'. it's the frequency of action potentials. High ratecoding/firing frequency means high early RFD (from 0-100ms). This makes a tremendous difference. It's not easy to train it. It has a lot to do with hormones and neurotransmitters (adrenaline, testosteron, dopamin ..) Fast training works better than classic training. But what works better is performing movements with no '0' pre tenson of the prime muscles or even better is to contract the antagonist quickly release and explode with tha agonist muscles (this is true plyometric training). For example you actively pull yourself down into a squat with your flexor muscles before exploding up. It's very true that tendons don't like too much fast heavy concentrics. Tendon injuries are really not funny.
@NathanaelMorton4 жыл бұрын
Thanks brother this was tons of info. Just want to push back a little because I really do appreciate this comment: I explained to the viewers to move the weight as fast as possible on the concentric. If the weight is heavy AND they are moving it fast, wouldn’t the effort take care of itself? It’s tough not to squat with effort when the weight is both heavy AND you’re intent is moving the weight as fast as possible, not to mention MU recruitment takes place the entire time that you’re performing the eccentric and the isometric in their respective phases. I agree with the second statement, but I also believe that they do this effectively starting with the isometric phase when decelerating and then for sure in the concentric phase when they’re actively pulling themselves down and exploding up to the top of the squat. Either way I agree with you 100%, but I feel like everything that you stated is covered with the strategy that I tell viewers to follow in this video. Maybe I didn’t explain it effectively!

@NathanaelMorton4 жыл бұрын
Two days per week of strength training. High intensity low repetitions. Don't do any high volume because you get that from practice and games. Do your workout days the day after games so that you have the max amount of rest and recovery before your next game. For example, if you have games on Tuesday and Friday, do your high intensity low repetition workout on Wednesday and Saturday. High intensity low repetition would mean 8 sets of 3 reps of heavy explosive squats, or low reps of a high intensity plyo like depth jumps or squat jumps. Hope this helps.

I would do a warm up, then some plyometrics (sprints, power skips, ski jumps, squat jumps, etc) THEN get into the squats. Then I would do exercises for: Hamstrings (Nordic curls or Single Leg Romanian Deadlifts) Lower back (Hyperextensions or Supermans) Glutes (Barbell Hip Thrusts or Monster Walks for Glute Medius) Core (Any core workout) Then be sure to hit tibialis anterior and calves 3x per week on any day. You'd be solid with that workout! And only implement the training with big compound movements. Barbell hip thrusts would be the only one of those it would work well for. Nordics 3 sets of 10, one leg RDL's 3 sets of 6, hypers 3 sets of 10, monster walks 3 sets of 10 forward and backward. And then progressive overload doing 2 more reps or 5 more pounds each time. For Nordics try to go from a 12 inch box to 6, to a flat bench.
