They are irreversible because the masses are in support of it although the case of Gabon is different because it's the fifth most prosperous country in Africa despite the elitist corruption over there, but Niger' s case is that of total and abject poverty that the president and family drinks water from France, eats food from France, have properties in France while they have mostly youthful population living on a boulevard of broken dreams, same in Mali, same in Burkina Faso, guinea is a bit different also and many other Africans are calling for more coups because democracy and politicians have failed the people totally, democracy is responsible for more wars, corruption and poverty in Africa because things were not this worse in the days of military era in Africa, people were not dreaming of going to Europe or America because they were satisfied with what they had then, but democracy came and stole people's dreams, savings, lives etc from them and they are looking for greener pastures here and there, that's definition of democracy in Africa

So much corruption in African countries, why every politician are so hungry for money power. So much can be done in African countries with their resources, abundant manpower, still no progress. There was a revolution leader of Libya. He did tried to progress the society, improved agriculture with cross country water pipeline from underground reservoirs, had oil resources. But the western countries doesn't want the Africa to progress, they just want us to slave and run countries with foreign aid. Why the world is so hateful and self centred at the expenses of the poor 😫

I am a student of political science and it was a fantastic deconstruction of a complex event like coup and dare I say this should be included in syllabi in universities and colleges

I would also recommend that you learn the science of writing - formatting text - and using paragraphs with a narrow column. Study how such formatting is done in Newspapers - books and magazines. Also - study page layout and the ' Chicago Style Manual.' Writing an almost endless line of text is not something one with a proper education would do. Learn to pay attention to detail and observe the rules of grammar. My youngest students age 8 academically outclass you Keep that in mind - and correct your error - now that you are aware of it. Good luck and good bye. And on a final note: There is no point in anyone replying - because the observation stands firm and is accurate 2. I am too busy with other matters to read illiterate responses without value 3. Don't waste your time - This is not open to debate. 4. The facts presented are self-evident - so get the point

Thank you for the great piece. I am a Bangladeshi American. I have been following the recent coup in Pakistan of the government of Imran Khan. I think in Bangladesh and Turkey they figured out a way to prevent future coups by putting your own people inside the military intelligence and also keeping the top military leadership comfortable. I think this is where Imran Khan and Egypt’s Morsi failed.
