In follow up, My planer planes off .3-.5 but I tried to plane off the surface of a filled stamp (3mm deep stamp) and somehow I removed darn near the whole thing. Lol. You make everything look so easy. You have the magic touch. That’s for sure.

Thank you! Be delicate with planing or just use a palette knife to remove excess soap. Hope this helps. :)

Another thought brings me to these questions. What beveler do you use? I’m afraid that my stainless steel beveler bevels off so much that it would take the stamp right off. I will have to go look at the supplier of my planer to remember but am fairly sure the bevel is 3 mm. The Also, how many days after cutting it is it best to do the stamp?

I've waited up to 2 weeks to stamp, however, there is a dry feeling on the bar that I watch for. Hope this helps. The beveler I use is 3 mm however, I do not press hard and just plane it to make it smooth. I remove most of the soap dough with a palette knife. Hope this helps.

Do you mind sharing which plainer you use? I don't have one yet, I've looked at them many times but it feels a bit overwhelming knowing which one to buy!

I have one. I'm working on another to try... Saving my dracmas. ;) When I do have one that I like, and have used, I'll be happy to share. Here is the one I have.
