Alyssa Lopez I know this is a year old but if you ever get curious, Christianity is different from other religions because it’s not a religion, it’s a relationship. Through Jesus Christ, we are able to have a personal and loving relationship with God. There’s a void that every human is born with that can only be filled with God but many people fill it with different things (money, sex, drugs, education, work, etc..) However, that longing is only for Jesus. That vacuum is only to be completely fulfilled by God’s love. Benefits of being a Christian: 1. Supernatural power through the authority of Jesus Christ 2. Gifts of the Spirit 3. Knowledge of the Truth 4. Salvation from sin and eternal damnation. 5. Receiving love that no human could ever give you. 6. The ability to speak to the creator of the universe and have Him respond. (Imagine having trouble at work, you can pray over it, and the Lord will answer your prayer.) If you’re interested or intrigued by any of this, it all begins with Jesus. Since man has sinned, we all fall short of the glory of God. I have, you have, and the only one who hasn’t is Jesus Christ. He came into this earth as a man and took our sins and cleansed us all. Now, our sin does not condemn us, because even though we may have lost the battle, Jesus won the war. It starts with a relationship with Jesus, asking him to come into your heart and your life and asking him for forgiveness. Once you have done that and you believe it, you’re all set and you’re a citizen of heaven and a born again Christian; a Child of God.

Hi Lisa... thanks for doing this - I love how you broke everything down - I can't remember the last time I saw someone do this and I needed to be reminded about how to actually 'study' the Bible instead of just reading it. I do a lot of journaling... what I love doing is talking to God through journaling and then sitting there quietly and waiting for Him to speak to me. I then write down what He is saying. Sometimes He gives me a specific scripture and sometimes it's just a simple "I love you"... He's so good! :)

I've never kept one before, which is strange because I'm a lifelong Christian...and a writer since third grade, lol. (I am now 49 years old - I've lived a life of regrets but made the conscious decision to seek God *first* a few years ago.) I could gush all day about how grateful I am for this video! I landed here after a Google search. I didn't really want to watch a video (like boxes of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!) but resigned myself to it after getting nowhere with blog articles, lol. I'm just wondering how you've come along with that? I struggled with how to pray. I recently found some calendars online to pray for my husband. It has different things each day. That really helps. I also made a prayer outline for myself so when I pray I usually sit down with that. 1. Invite God into my life 2. Praise - I found some examples of praise online . I recently found one called "Building a Vocabulary of Praise. " It's really good . So second I say some things from that. 3. Thanks- I thank God for a few things 4. Repent/confess/forgive- I then repent about anything I've done wrong and forgive anyone I need to forgive. 5. Requests a. For myself- ie health, guidance, protection, joy, pray Scriptures b. My husband - from those calendars or anything else I want to pray for him c. Our cats d. Others - any requests from others or whatever I want to pray for others e. Others' pets f. Peace on earth g. Leaders

Thank you for sharing. I use to do the SOAP method .Now I just go by what God puts in front of me and journal it. Or also do art and craft journal on a chapter or a verse. I have b3en looking for something for a long time and starting and then ripping pagers because I was looking into others who know what summarizing is and themes and all that. I struggled in school so this way helps me to know that I can pretty much take what I think god is saying to me. Where as I was like doubting what was coming through my processing mind and making it so more complicated when it didn't lol ... I'm probably the only one with this problem 🤦‍♀️😂

I'm very much a night owl. Very much for me and very tired in the morning . Sleep all night and having insomnia. Like tiredness in the morning. Good morning we're most Americans sleeping as well as the nighttime again my Bible at 10:00 in the evening and just work my way through it till 1:00 or so in the morning and that is when I about to pass out for an hour and then have a couple hours in the Bible praying throughout this time and this really is a time for my advantage during the night. I haven't been able to get my Bible as much as I would like to but I do keep a journalist a habit that I got into with the suggestion of my pastor. I do read Acts of proverb daily with a couple of books at night. Lately I have been studying a lot of time in the Bible and read it around the clock 20 minutes here 20 there whenever I have time I'm in the Bible or video usually.

Thank you for this video! I’ve never had a bible that I understood what it was trying to tell me or what is happening. I also was always confused on how to study the Bible. I learned about the ESV Bible from you guys and I purchased one and I can understand it!! I got a notebook, Bible pens and highlighters, plus a notebook to journal. I can’t wait to start! Lisa, nice info. I journal quite a bit and to recall scripture has always been difficult for me. I do agree that picking individual words and expanding on the meaning helps me. Just for one example: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ.... the word can: able to, be permitted, inherently able, designed to, permission, accomplish, but also can is a receptacle, vessel , container. when I research and expand each word I feel the Holy Spirit filling me with such understanding, comfort and love. Thank you for sharing your Bible journaling method. I read the Jesus Calling Devotional where I (1) summarize the devotion of the day in 2-3 sentences, (2) look for action words from God (an instruction or command), (3) write how I can apply the instruction to my life (I will...) and then (4) write a prayer. I like your take-away part. Currently I’m writing on 8 1/2 x 11 paper, but thinking about putting it in a smaller notebook so I can take it with me. Thanks again.
