When I study, I tend to study an individual book for about a month. Currently, I'm studying the book of Hebrews. I like to look up the meaning of a person's name, review the references in each chapter, highlight the verses that truly speak to me, and memorize at least 1 scripture per week. Thanks for sharing your study habits. Peace and blessings.

+ramona whitaker I know what you mean!! Those days that I don't take the time to be in God's presence I know I really missed out! But, don't let a day, or a week, or a month, or however long keep you from coming to God's word! He wants us to come back and sit with him, reading his word no matter how long we've been away 😊

You have the sweetest spirit ever. It shows how close you are to God. And you are such a good example to other people who don't know the Lord. I can say right now I'm not as disciplined as you are in studying and quiet time with Him. Although I love to pray for people too and go through a mental list I guess you would say. I love to see how God answers in different ways. You are inspiring!

+Marlene S Marlene that is so encouraging and kind of you! Thank you ❤ Trust me, it has taken me a long time to learn how to be disciplined in my time with the Lord, but it so rewarding!!! Pray, read Bible, take notes asking myself: what does this reveal to me about God? What does this reveal to me about humanity? Any questions, convictions, or comforts found? Go over those. After that I move into a time of repentance, asking God to forgive me of my wrongs and also taking time to pray for others afterwards. When I am done with that I write down one verse from the chapter that stuck out to me and try to remind myself of that and use it to benefit myself and others throughout the day by finding ways to apply that truth to my life situations to keep me grounded throughout the day. After that I may read a chapter or two of a devotional book like right now I am reading Grace Not Perfection by Emily Ley. And that's it!

I love that you leave the back of your prayer list for answered prayers. I used to keep a prayer list and when they were answered I would praise God and move on to those who still need prayer, but I think what is cool about writing down that they have been answered is also HOW they've been answered. Sometimes God gives us what we want in a different form, or DOESN'T answer a prayer because what we think we want isn't the BEST that God wants for us. So to look back and see what you were praying for and just be reminded that sometimes God will respond in a different way that can turn out to be a bigger blessing can be so powerful. Thank you so much for sharing this..I'm definitely adding it to my favorites. I'm so grateful for you for sharing. God bless you, sis!!

Thanks for sharing. Lisa, watching you and your husband as a Godly couple blesses me. I created a war binder for prayer time. I have scripture cards in it, blank pages and tabbed sections for prayer: PRAISE, marriage, self, children, family, pastor, church, nations as well the persecuted church. I've included prayer lists that my pastor gave us during corporate prayer. I also have a book where I write my dreams, I have a book where I do my daily scripture writing and another book where I write long heartfelt letters to God concerning my life and the people in it. It's definitely a more in-depth reflection of my relationship with my Father God. I'm hoping that after I'm gone it will speak to my children and grandchildren about who God was in my life and hopefully it will be an encouragement to them to see how I trusted God even in adversity. Blessings to you!

Elizabeth Martinez While I love organized prayer time and prayer list because they help us stay focused and frankly sometimes a routine is helpful, please don’t think that if you have missed a certain time to sit down and write down in a journal or read the scripture, that you can’t meet with God every single morning first thing! Whether it’s while you’re making breakfast, sitting on the side of the bed, driving into work. Always take time for God not just the routines that help us be disciplined to know him better. One of the best ways to know him better is just to have a conversation with him which is what we call prayer. Studying the word of God is vital to knowing his voice so it is important to make time for that but if that’s not first thing in the morning you can try to send it in on the lunch break or in the evening or afternoon. The important thing is that you read the word of God. But the very most important thing is that you have a relationship with him through prayer where you tell him how much he has done for you and thankfulness and wait for him to touch your heart. Most of the replies I get from God are from reading the word of God and he will bring something to my remembrance from the prayer time we’ve had together. I hope this helps my sister.
@BethBuchanon5 жыл бұрын
Kirsten Olsson be sure when you get up each morning just to stop on the side of your bed while you’re brushing your teeth are and getting ready or driving into work or what ever you are normally doing with your morning time to just stop and thank God have a conversation with him that way. It is very important to make time to study his word so that you know his voice versus the anime who will try to imitate him. The best way to know what counterfeit is to know the real thing so well that you cannot be deceived. But what’s really important is that you have that conversation and relationship with him in prayer time. Then you will also hear from him when you read the word of God. Discipline and routines are important for keeping us in the word that it is so important to have prayer time whenever you can with him. He could care less if you sit down first and start journaling even though I do highly recommend that for your self the relationship with him is what is critical and that can be anytime anywhere. I hope this helps. I love her channel and I love her suggestions and think they are very good. Especially having some quiet worship music in the background that does not have words to distract. Anyway you can talk to God and hear from him anywhere. Don’t wait for some certainWay to do it to get started again. Once you start reading the word of God whether it’s morning afternoon or evening, it will not return void. God will speak to you and you will drink up his word again!

Hi! I just.came across your lovely channel and I have to say it’s very refreshing and genuine to sit and watch! During my quiet time w/ The Lord, I start off with a prayer before diving into my NIV Study Bible. I ask for The Holy Spirit to guide me through His Word & to give me understanding and clarity to close in my questions at the end. Afterwards, I’ll begin my reading. I am at Psalms and I really adore the poetry, the worship attitude being expressed through each chapter. I allow it to sink in by reading it slowly and out loud. This really helps me to digest what is going on and be mindful at the setting. I would have my pens & highlighters to connect dots and write out notes on the margins and summarize what I read, whether it may be definitions to words I need interpreting or summarizing from the commentaries on the verses I read over. I also use a separate notebook to do cross referencing and to copy verses that speak out to me for deeper understanding. Towards the end of my quiet time, I write out my prayer in my notebook and close my time with The Lord. ❤️ I change it up when the routine gets too comfortable or too rehearsed. I change my scenery place. I will have background music at times and other times I won’t. It all depends what The Lord leads me to do. 😊✝️ God bless you!! 💕

My bible study involves a prayer binder where I also write down different thoughts that come to me as I read my bible study devotional for the day. My prayer binder has different sections for different topics and friends/issues to pray for. And then the last section is my grateful section where I look for verses that express gratitude and I pray along with that verse. I also love to decorate my binder with all sorts of fun stickers and washi tape, stamps and inpads and even ribbon. Thank you so much for sharing and for serving as an inspiration to many of us. God bless you on your journey to knowing God and His heart for us.

I am the 5th generation Christian in our family, my parents taught me to have daily devotion time since forever and then I taught my kids the exact same thing when they became old enough to read Bible. I am 50+ years old and have been 2 small groups leader for over 2 years; but I have only just started from this week a way to study Bible, which I found has been so far so good. I have alway "read" Bible in the morning, but since I'm not a morning person, I have started to listen to audio Bible instead, I even had used posting a scripture every day in Instagram as a form of motivation to myself. However, all these were just human solutions, so most of the time, I didn't learn one single word. For the last few days, I have bought my Bible to work and found a quiet spot to read and make notes (if any) during lunch time. It's not perfect, but I found it has been much better than just listen to audio Bible and not knowing if I had benefited from it, at all. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. No matter our age, our status, our responsibilities, He's always here to teach us to improve ourselves. All glory to God!

Hi Liza, this video is awesome!😊 I am so much blessed especially of how you explained how useful it is to you the Happy Planner. You see, through the years I have been writing down my journal or insights or reflection during my bible studies or the sermons that I have been hearing too, as well as those things other things like prayer lists or some insights. So I have different notebooks for all of these. But I have memory challenges now after having a stroke and brain operations 3 years ago, and so I keep forgetting where did I put those notes or notebooks. And I also started making a prayer journal 2 years ago which I kept on forgetting of finishing up, as I struggle with the busyness of life and so it was not given a priority and soon forgotten. This video of yours about quiet time that also talk about your happy planner and your prayer list is very encouraging and gives me an idea. Thank you so much for this. I love it very much. Hi .. Nice thoughts here.. :) .... But I do feel that we miss out on the power of silence when we depend on background radio or music to concentrate.. Especially with quiet time.. +WIZESWIFE Thank you, Sarah! You are such a blessing in my life 💕 Yes, the prayer list has helped me so much!!! I usually do my study in the morning- I try to do it early, but sometimes I do it in the afternoon 😊

You are so inspiring, great and sweet I hope that someday I can be as close too God as you if you can give me some recommendations on how to be closer to God and what you have learned over the years that you have been studying that would mean the world to me cause I'm a begginer at this stuff and would love to learn more.

I just purchased this same study bible last month. I am still trying to get used to the size lol. There is so much information in here that is great for helping to start off a bible study on a subject, but with that information comes a lot of weight.
