Thank you so much for this video. I came across your channel after watching Ryder Carroll and then your video was next. In high school, I was very good at using my agenda, mind you, I’m 36 now, and in need of organizing my life again. I will be referring to this video a lot and I love your note taking system too. I used Cornell in University and it was so helpful in studying. I love the minimalist idea, as I see all these artistic pages, which I may get into as I progress. Thank you!

i really like your video. because when i started to bujo in 2018 i watched all the beginner ones i could find and everyone claimed to have the perfect method. but you leave it open to everyone to make up their own style. and that is what i appreciate most about the bujo method, that i can make it whatever i need at the time. and although i am an artist my bujo is entirely artfree, it is basically black pen notes and lists only. unless on a day i buy some cute tape or stickers. :D
@ioanahayman4 жыл бұрын
That's exactly what I was going for! So glad you feel like I left it open-ended because I would never want bullet journaling to feel like a set-in-stone method for everyone to follow. Also very much relate to your comment about being artistic but keeping it mainly black pen and lists. ;-) Although now I'm at home with lots of free time, when I'm at university my spreads tend to be as basic as possible, too!

Hi, Ioana! I had so much fun watching this video! All the simple, functional, and decorative aspects were covered, plus I really appreciated the beauty of looking back at old notebooks. Thank you for all the ideas you've shared with your previous bullet journals. ❤️ You know what? Your video on how to use all the notebooks you have accumulated as a stationery lover and collector is what inspired me to organize an Editor's Notebook of my own for my art account on Instagram, my blog, and my KZbin channel. 🌻 Your work has given me a lot of helpful insight and courage. The input from all your bullet journaling videos took a lot of pressure off me, AND reminded me that I don't have to use the exact same method as another bullet journal user. Watched this new post of yours during a storm over here in my home country. All the moderate rain was a welcome break from the sweltering summer heat. 🌞 I remembered that your new post was to go on KZbin today, and it made my rainy-stay-at-home a lot more cozy. 🌻 All your footage reminded me of one of the best feelings in the world: sitting down to write and enjoy some time to clear my thoughts. I'm excited for your next ventures! 😊 Please stay safe over there, and I hope you have a great month. Love from, Angelic ⭐️

I'm honestly still a little confuse on how bullet journaling works. I wanted to start doing this back in the beginning of 2020 (January) but I didn't because i...basically didn't know anything. Now it's my goal to start on in 2021. Cause well I feel like it's a new start for me because 1. I recently graduated highschool and 2. I'm about to turn 18 (still have until August 26). So right now I'm researching on the basics and ways. Your video was a good start. 😁

Aw - I'm glad this video helped explain some of the basics then! Really, it's just a notebook for you to mind-map and logically plan out your goals and tasks. There's no right way for it to work at all. ;-)

Hmm, in my opinion, as long as the task is done, I'm happy! I'm sure you could leave a little space to the left of the tasks to mark what day/time you finished them though! When would you want to do that, do you think?

I am confused by all these new journals. Art journals, travel journals, bullet journals, etc. I don't know what is the difference from these to the regular old planners that were already filled out with dates, and you could choose how many pages per day, or one spread per week or month. I tracked my to do, what I actually got done, appointments , anything I ate, health, and what I spent each day all in one place. Are these just to add art to them? Did the old planner companies stop making planners? I don't trust google calendar, too easy to lose info and the cloud or NSA doesn't need to know my business. I like digital stuff less and less. I'm trying to do some kind of journal like this, but not sure how to use the pre-printed pages for habit trackers, and goal trackers or whatever they are. Not sure how to do a mind map either.
@ioanahayman4 жыл бұрын
I think the options for customization are just expanding! Personally, I find bullet journaling to be so much more flexible than a planner. I made a whole video on this topic! ;-) kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJDUgmd8oNx_mK8 Also, in your case I think a bullet journal would be great! You can do all the things you mentioned - including tracking what you did, what your goals are, etc. Pre-printed pages are generally just sheets you glue into your journal - like planner pages. And the mind-mapping is essentially like a brainstorm page. You jot down all your ideas about a topic and use lines to connect related ones! It can help to organize ideas on paper so you can figure out next steps to tackle them in the most efficient way possible!

A spread is like a chapter?
@ioanahayman4 жыл бұрын
In a way, yes! It's a section in the bullet journal - typically it is the full flatlay (left and right page together in the open book), but it can also be just one page, or a sectioned-off portion of a page. Does that help?

I don't have patience for bullet journals. Plus, I had no life even before Plague 2020, so it would've been empty. But even if I did, I have exactly zero creative/artistic genes. I just like looking at the pretty ones other people make.
@vtheb12994 жыл бұрын
I hear you on having no life... it's an era when being busy is held as a badge of honor. Under peer pressure, normal people might simply feel that they are not doing enough. But listen, BuJo is not only about external to-dos and tasks but can be tuned in entirely into your private, internal life. You can use it to journal your thoughts and keep track of symptoms (mental or physical) or feelings. You can keep track of books you're reading and what you thought of them or learned from them. It can be very therapeutic.
@Yesica19934 жыл бұрын
@@vtheb1299 Thanks, I appreciate it. I used to journal by hand all the time. Once computers came along, I fell out of the habit. Maybe one day I'll get back to it. There's nothing quite like pen and paper!
@robopecha4 жыл бұрын
read ryder carrolls book or watch his videos and do the original method the way he does. it has nothing to do with being artistic. it is not even intended to be artistic. it is for organization. it takes like 5 minutes a day, you dont need patience.

2 things. First, when i go in my youtube subscriptions, your new videos never pop up. ( youtuber Lavendaire from LA and Caitlin's Corner from Toronto do not pop up all the time either.) why? i do not know. you are one of my favorite " organizing teachers". If you have somebody at youtube that can help with that.... fingers crossed. Thank you for Natasha Oceane recommendation. i really like her workouts, very new exercises. i like Heather Robertson too for home workouts. Deuxiemement, could you reshoot this video and target it towards West Coast American girls 12 -13 year old about to enter high school? Meaning, you bring the idea of a collection. so you follow with examples of the collections you made over the years like - your "Apocalypse" list. You bring the idea of spreads, you include examples of spreads you made., you bring the idea of deliverables ( is what you call it in your neck of the woods) you show how you fill out such a spread.. ( you already shot these in other videos. maybe you can re edit?could be hard? ) i hope you know you have a lot of good organizing ideas in your videos. Even how to eat. i know what is coming for those girls, starting in high school next year, they will walk for lunch to the Loblaws? ( here it is Fred Meyer and Winco) and get potatoes fries and fried chicken for lunch. Nobody is talking to them about food prep. i had gotten them bujos from Michaels just before the pandemic hit. We never got to fill them out. ( i am a 4H sewing club leader here in Oregon) Basically, i was looking for ideas how to record the sewing projects they are making in a cool way for young people and i found you. Being 'seamstresses", they are also artistic, most of them sketch. What is in your crash course is something any young girl entering high school should know. The girls are at an age where getting the info from a young person is way cooler than an older person... Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us. Just a thought. you are extremely busy. no worries if it does not happen, no worries Just be aware your content is good.

Hi Alex, thank you for your kind comment! I did not know that was an issue - unfortunately I have little control over the recommendations and subscription pages, but liking and commenting helps a lot! You can also try turning on the notification bell because that will make my videos show up as priority in your feed. Also, that's so funny - my two ultimate favourite workout KZbinrs are exactly Natacha Oceane and Heather Robertson. ;-) I found Heather more recently though. Your idea is really great and actually would tie in well to a series I'm planning on doing in the coming months! Will keep the ideas in mind for sure! Cheers :-)
