When at a networking event, time is usually tight and there are many people with whom one may wish to engage. Once engaged, some people are hard to get away from. I would therefore appreciate your thoughts on how to politely wrap up/end a conversation at a networking event.

Use the " there's more to see here" approach. Say something like, "Hey, it was great chatting you. There's more to see here, so I'm going to take a look around. Hopefully I'll see you again later."

The boring approach isn't going to make you memorable and those individuals aren't going to look forward to engaging with you
