I went on a mountain bike ride with my girlfriend, but I left all my camera gear at home to prove you don't need much to start your own KZbin channel. If you're watching this, then I guarantee you have what you need to get out and create content today!
Keep an eye out for more videos on this topic, I have a whole series planned!

Have you been thinking of starting your own channel? Did this video get you motivated to start? Let me know! I had a ton of fun making this video and can't wait to show you just how powerful your cellphone is! Keep an eye out for more videos on this topic!

Great job on the video! I grab a bunch of shots on my cell phone and truly think someone could be a big following with just their phone and a lot of drive! Keep up the good work!

Thanks, man! The phones today are crazy powerful, and there are apps out there that make them perfect all-in-one content creation machines!

Dude this was definitely super helpful....i have a few friends that want to start their own channels, not MTB unfortunately but, i sent them this video so they can see its not so scary lol it was awesome to see you ride with your girlfriend, i thought that was pretty cool too !

Awesome, man! Yeah, it really doesn't take a fancy camera to tell a story. The same techniques can be used on a $50 or a $100,000 camera, so you can learn them using anything. Thanks for sharing the video, and let me know if they have any questions!

My iPhone is my primary secondary (if that makes sense) camera and I always have it with me. This is a fantastic idea and 100% true people. My first ever MTB edit used all footage from cell phones. Plus not having a GoPro forces you to get creative and come up with something other than POV footage. A common trap that's easy to fall into (myself included) That being said, I think crashing dad is probably right: That fancy camera setup of yours just got too heavy to carry around. Admit it 😆

Cellphones are perfect for backup or even main cameras. My Bellingham video was shot with just a Gopro + Gimbal setup and a cellphone. Still one of my favorite videos because of the epic story. And yes, it was really nice to leave the 25lb pack at home for once!

Great video man! I really think that it's awesome that you are doing this series. At the end of the day it's not the equipment, it's the story!

Thanks, man! You're right, the story is king. At the end of the day, you can tell the same story with a $100 dollar camera. It doesn't take a lot to get started, just a camera.

We've actually been talking about getting her a full face. Maybe one of those convertible ones that she can remove when it's too hot or when we're on flow. My face isn't a good-looking as hers, so crashing could only result in an improvement. ;P

A used GoPro 3 and free editing software, probably cheaper than Adobe premiere
@TrailFeatures
@TrailFeatures 6 жыл бұрын
That is very true! Though, with this video, I wanted to show people that you can get started with just a phone and some free apps. Adobe Premier Clip is free for Android and iOS. :)

I am still using Go Pro studio. it has exporting issues and have to redo the importing/ conversion some times, but even adobe premiere has issues, Not tried it. So far the fastest software I used was GoPro studio, I tested out Blender but the render time is insane.

Johannes Nilsen Try Davinci Resolve, a professional editing software that's very powerful and completely free. Takes some time to learn but rewarding once you do. The latest version works great with most GoPro files (except the newest hero6 highest fps files)

+Effie Lever I've been playing around with Davinci myself (I use Adobe Premiere CC) and am impressed with what it offers for free. I would have loved these options as a kid getting by with iMovie!

Something odd going on with the sound. Like it's dubbed
@TrailFeatures
@TrailFeatures 6 жыл бұрын
A couple reasons it sounds off: One of the mics was busted, and adobe premier clip will lower the music volume when it thinks someone was talking. Not the most ideal situation, but it still shows you can make some good stuff with a janky phone. :)
