I found myself slowly falling out of creativity over the past couple of years- to the point of not creating at all. The less creative I am, the more depressed and anxious I become. Then stopping altogether, because I had so many ideas built up, it felt too overwhelming to even begin. Finding your channel and being granted access to your loving spirit and creative process has sparked something in me that I haven't felt in entirely too long. A longing to create ANYTHING, and to just simply begin. So I did. Got myself a journal a couple weeks ago (never really kept one before) and all the bits and scraps of pretty papers that I've hoarded through the years began to crawl out from their drawer space. I simply began- and now I can't stop. My crochet hooks have reappeared, the acrylic paint was dry, so i replaced it with watercolor so i can learn something new, and a journalis SO much more fun to create art in than anything else I've tried. It gives me the permission to accept whatever comes without agonizing over beginning on blank canvas. I've accepted that having multiple projects going on at once doesn't have to be stressful. It can be absolutely blissful after such a lengthy break. This year has been the craziest year in my 4(ish) decades. You are teaching me HOW to journal. Your channel showed up in my feed at the most perfect time. You have inadvertently helped me more than you could ever possibly imagine, and I thank you for that. Truly.

I know exactly what you mean, so good to read about your journey back to creativity. I find that if I don’t do something creative every day I sink into depression. That’s why I’ve started my own channel and making videos of what I paint, in order to keep me painting regularly, and to bring some meaning into my life, as well as helping others. Bravo.

I'm so happy to know that my newfound inspiration has helped even one human. Still journaling, and it has led me to feel motivated enough to completely transform our living environment. Being surrounded by clutter is beyond overwhelming for me. Our garage is a nightmare, and my craft room could no longer even be called that anymore. It was becoming a catch all for everything in the house. In my journal, I started a wish list, and have been checking stuff off one by one. Thought about putting the process up on my youtube channel, but it felt too personal...like the beginning of a new chapter with only the firstdraft written. Once it's finally close to finished, I will be doing a tour...complete with before and afters. It's such an invigorating feeling to feel this way again after so many years. Of all of the youtybers that I follow, I have only the unexpected gypsy to thank. She is more of an inspiration than she could even imagine. I've cried genuine tears of gratitude for her. It is ruly a blessing to be invited into her life every week. Not many people are as genuine as she appears to be. I'm so very thankful. If you're struggling as I have been, try starting a creativity /organization wishlist. Even if it seems overwhelming, evenifyouthinkyou can'taffordwhat you truly want.... My mom always says that the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time. We can absolutely DO this!! Blessings to you all ❤

Loved this video, there must be something in the air today. I was awake most of the night and was thinking about 2021 and maybe journalling next year. I come to KZbin and what do I find? You and your wonderful journals. I’m more than inspired, I’m excited and got butterflies, that’s never happened before. Looking through the comments, I noticed there are women in my age group, all planning on journalling 2021. There must be a strong vibe linked to your channel. For years I have sat with beautiful notebooks, large sketch books, needing to journal. It never happened, I was always too scared to make a mess (my writing is atrocious) Scared of people reading my words, if they could understand it! Now age 70, I am ready to take a risk. Life has been on hold since the day I turned 70. The day lockdown was announced and a surprise party had to be cancelled... I’m ready to start living, taking chances. I’m ready to blot notebooks, journals, diaries whatever. Thank you so much for today’s video 💕💕💕💕💕

I don't think there's any reason for anyone to 'thumb down' a video, seriously. Just troll on... Dear Wendy, Please continue to make these beautiful videos sharing your lovely soul and your talent. This video (and especially the writing prompt) truly nourished a desire to actually JOURNAL again. While I dream of writing in a journal, I never seem to get past a few days.... I'm always sparked in February (pattern) to begin, but then by March am off hunting for birds and flowers in the wild. I really liked the way you showed how easy it is to do a journal without going into all the details of each piece and step as you do it... The talking ahead about what your going to do is perfect, then just showing us with a little music playing... Perfect! Your prompts, are very good and written in a way that is not 'demanding'... So very inspiriting! A much more appropriate word than inspiring... The word inspiriting is an adjective that means: encouraging and enlivening.! That's exactly what you do.... THANK YOU so much for being yourself and these lovely, lovely simple and charming moments. I find I look forward to playing your video as I am working on my own stuff at my desk. I stop to watch, sometimes make notes, etc... You are influencing my life and I appreciate you being there to do so... Thank you and HAPPY 2021.

New subscriber here, found you when searching for creative inspiration. Watching your vids made me a bit emotional because you remind me of a dear loved one we lost when I was only 9 y/o, but left a huge impact in my life. She was my paternal grandmother and passed from breast cancer at 67 y/o. I remember being at her funeral and placing a drawing in her casket of her in her garden of flowers with her gorgeous, long silver hair flowing down. She was one of the strongest, wisest, most loving women I ever had the pleasure of knowing. To me, she was the perfect picture of aging with beauty and grace, and I wanted to be like her when I got to her age. Now I look forward to growing long silver hair. Obviously you're much younger than my grandmother was back then, but I see some of her characteristics in you, so I wanted to share this with you because I'm so grateful to have found someone who can remind me of her and make me feel closer to her than I have in many years. Lastly I just wanted to thank you for encouraging creative freedom and imperfection in art. I struggle with perfectionism, especially because my mother was very legalistic my whole life. She is a very emotionally unavailable and self-centered woman (I don't hold it against her, I think she has a lot of pain inside that needs healing) so growing up with that pressure was really hard. There is so many unfinished projects I'm scared to work on due to fear of failure or under-performing. Watching your videos is like a breath of fresh air, you have such a nurturing aura that facilitates freedom of expression in your viewers. Watching you just layer on colors and materials boldly and intentionally is awesome. Sorry for writing so much, I just wanted you to know that you are appreciated and an inspiration. Thank you for your content!

How did I know to watch this one? I’d been waffling. I ordered a pretty journal and some supplies to get me started. I’m going to walk around the house to see if I have anything that I can use. I might not, as I’m not at my normal house where I do have room to keep bits and bobs. I’ve been sequestering at a secondary location since March, as I’m high risk for covid. Journaling is something I’ve been thinking about again, and I hope it will help me going forward. You have. A charming way about you, thanks for sharing so much of yourself with all of us. You never know how far the ripples of that will go, or who they’ll impact. Hugs.

What a lovely way to start my day! And look at the number of subscribers you have now - you’ve started a movement not a KZbin channel 😊 I’ve tried morning pages but I’m not a morning person. I have Fibro so mornings are slow and foggy and night times are clear times reserved for reading as I can really concentrate then. I’m going to start a journal. I will be 69 in a few days and need to find the positive as I approach 70 despite having had the hardest three years of my life physically and emotionally. You’d think things would get easier as you get older and wiser. Apparently not. I have a book which I love. I started to work in it then pulled out the first handful of pages and stuck the next page over it. Maybe this can be my healing journal. I’m writing publicly over a private matter to encourage anyone at any age to have a go at this. I want to use this journal to reflect but also to prepare me for the next stage of my life. Thank you Wendy. You are the wise woman of your online tribe. xx

I LOVE the cup & saucer metaphor! THANK YOU! I've always used the idea of keeping your well supplied, but that leaves room for over-dipping for others. This is really helpful! As is the entire video! I am getting ready to journal in 2021 for the first time in many years. I abandoned the practice (and almost all my spiritual reading) during a horrible time, when I convinced myself all of it didn't "work". I actually walked to the dumpster in my apartment complex and threw out ALL of my journals (which actually felt liberating to let go of the past)...I loaded almost every book into boxes and drove them to the used bookstore & sold them. I have since found a used copy of my "Bible", WWRWW (Estés), & put it back on my shelf. Your quote from it made me feel all excited about it again, so I paused the video to go & get it down. I'm intending to start a special book as a journal this year too & am feeling quite fearful and inadequate about it. Your video just showed up today, so I'm getting a hand up, and I'm grateful!

This video was divinely brought into my path 🙏🏻💚🙏🏻 I'm an artist, writer, and tarot reader/ healer/ lightworker, whatever you prefer to call that lol 😋 I have been called to start a journal, and then this popped up in my recommended. The fact that your new journal has a Josephine Wall picture on the cover just confirms that I was meant to watch this. She has been a favorite artist of mine since I was very little. I feel like I'm watching myself in the future. The synchronicities are crazy. Also as a little girl, I called myself Wendy for some reason, imagining myself to be a faerie/nymph, and recently my husband and I have been earnestly considering lightening all our belongings and living in a tiny home so we can travel around, so reading your About Me page sent chills all over my skin. I think there's a lot I can learn about myself from you and your channel. 🙏🏻 Thank you so much! This has also been confirmation for me to finally start my own KZbin channel, too, as I've been wanting to for years, to combine my creative pursuits and tarot reading/ energy work. ♡♡♡

I have just found your channel 🙏🌸🙂 I only started for about 3 years ago, making junk journals. I had never worked with paper before but have always been creative with painting furniture, painting walls with old chalk paint and stencils so it looked like old chipped painted walls. Have always tried flowers etc but paper and drawing have never been something I have made. So I have really been opening a totally new adventure and I LOVE it. But when the COVID hit us I lost all creativity ☹️ so since August 2020 I haven’t been able to find my creativity and it have really been a hard time. For a month ago I found a video on KZbin with art journaling and I have never tried drawing but I had a pencil so I began to draw. I also had some old ( not so good) water pencils, so I could play with some colors. It have been difficult for me, just to sit in my new craft room have been a struggle. But I pushed my self, gently and I sit in my kitchen and it works perfectly for now. I have been looking for some paint but it is difficult to find in my country and I haven’t got a lot of money ( I don’t work because of my depression). I was wondering if you could help me with want I should have first. I have gesso and different kind of glue. Sorry for my long message but you videos have really been helpful for me in different levels and thanks for sharing all your thoughts and tips. Xx Tina - Denmark 🇩🇰

I've been searching for inspiration for journaling recently, I am so glad to have found you. I've been journaling for about 3years so far. I started journaling to organised my ideas and have a place where I can look back and feel a sense of achievement. However, 2020 journal was a heavy one, I can't even look into it and feel light or a sense of accomplishment as It ended being a emotional dumping ground. Paragraphs of heavy and emotional words. I've just started my 2021 journal and it took the same route. I loved this video of your ideas of journaling. A journal isn't supposed to make you feel like a task sheet of where you tick things off like a strict diary it brought me back to why I started journaling in the first place. A place of freedom of expression, inspiration, light and healing. So thank you. Hope your 2021 has started good. I can't wait to watch more of your videos 😊 Thank you for your amazing content!

Ooh, the part with self care and a full cup, overflowing to the saucer- thing really got me. Wonderful and simple self preservation-thoughts. This is the first time I watched one of your films and it will definitely be more. I’m 51 years old and still looking for my superpowers. Creativity is a big part of it but I have no idea in what way. I think that starting a creative journal can help me figure it out and be a great friend on the road. I really wish that I can stick to some kind of daily creative activity. I’ll put my happy, sparkling, curious goggles on and find myself a journal to start with. Thank you and may you have a beautiful 2021 🥰

Dear Wendy I am working away here on page 6 of my re-purposed journal made from an old redundant diary, and at the same time watching and listening to your soothing voice in your cosy studio. I have gleaned so many good ideas from your own work and continue to improve these pages, one thing I have learned from you is that you can rework the pages over time and improve and replace material at will. Collecting together material for the collage work is real fun and now I look at junk mail in a new light ! yes thats the idea always look at the positive elements in life because it affects our lives in more ways than we think. Keep up the beautiful work that is inspiration to many, thank you.

This was lovely , thank you, Wendy. You have given me pause. In 2019 moving into 2020 I was starting an urban sketching/ travel journal and of course with the direction the world took, that came to a screeching halt. Only 2 pages were used and now your video is inspiring me to move back to it with a more inward journaling approach . The quote you read gave me chills as well. I find it so important and empowering to talk kindly to ourselves. Sometimes we call it manifesting, positive thinking , whatever.... it works. It's powerful. It has gotten me through so many hard time. You are such a ray of hope and light , Wendy. I love your videos. xoxo

I took some ideas from this video for my journal. I find as I watch videos of different content I might hear a quote that moves me or gives me an idea of a design I could do, I might see a design I want to try to do in my version, it might be an occasion like solstice that inspires me, or a hurdle I need to work out on paper. I'm not a good artist, but even the attempt can be calming. I did continual key words writing for lockdown and COVID that swirled in circles all over the page and I kept adding to it as events changed during the year. It took up a page, front and back, in my journal. It was my way of charting the pandemic, but not in a very negative, dark way. I loved this video!

Just discovered your channel. These last 10 months have allowed me to read so much more so I decided to start a reading journal. I also started writing to my youngest grandsons.....just random thoughts from me (grandmother age 73). When they are older and I might be gone from this planet, they can have a treasure of some of my “wisdom” thoughts, etc. Right now they live about 12 hours away, so we don’t see each other very often...and during this year, not at all. I thank God for FaceTime!

I’ve watched this video 3 or 4 times now, fascinates me and have started my journal for 2021. Started with reflection on this year and sticking down pictures of masks and anything that reminds me of the ups and downs of this year - good to look back on and to see how the year pans out. I seem to be cutting a lot of words out that resonate with me at the moment, maybe I will change direction as I work through my journal. Loving it so far, it’s like allowing myself to be a child again with cutting and pasteing , and it’s good therapy, so thank you again for the inspiration - I was meant to come across you, I believe things happen for a reason 🙏

Wonderful. I'm so glad I found your channel. I even bought a little instant camera to help me move forward and get started. I'm having such a time getting started. I had a brain injury and everything has changed so much and just 10 years. I lost everything I am finally back to where I still not like me again but like I can understand this person that I am now. I just want to be able to celebrate that. I'm just having the worst time with self-esteem. I want to create, I want to draw and paint but I just can't get started, because of that constant negativity eating at me. I've also gained 30 lb from seizure medications. Now, I just don't recognize myself when I look in the mirror. But 2021 is going to be a springboard for me to become the best person I can, as this new person I've become. 🙂

Dear Wendy, you were recommended to me by KZbin but what a lovely inspirational person you are! I have been journalling for a few years now (Bujo 6 and counting :-)) and I always need to put in some Art...... I noticed. So I started a seperate Art Journal too, last year. I notice however, I notice implementing my Art, into my Bujo works better for me. So I am just letting it go and put in my art wherever I go. Thank you for your inspiration so far and I pushed the button - so I hope getting more inspriration from you this year. Your voice is soothing to listen to in the background .....when journalling.
