@@KnitWithHannah I'm actually having a bit of a problem accidentally adding more loops as I keep adding rows (ex/ start with 13, end up with 15). Is this a common mistake and how can I avoid it, if you have any answers for such a thing? Thanks 😬

it seems no matter what type cast on I do as soon as I start my knitting very quickly every stitch gets tighter and together really fast , Ive done a really loosely sloppy looking looops to be so loose and it seems every stitch east up the yarn by the 4-5 stitch and it is so tight I cant go any further?? What could be the reason for this. I also tried making a cast on on my machine and still same thing with the knitting needls then chain crochet a row put it on the needles and same thing. I have no ideal what I could be doing wrong

Im so sorry but I don’t understand how the two ways are different? Your cast on is on the right but you just make it the left? You just turn it around?
@KnitWithHannah Жыл бұрын
yes the cast-ons are what is different. It can look odd if you're a new knitter, when the stitches are on the left hand needle instead of the right and vice versa. Whichever you're used to might change if you switch-up the cast-on. When you're a right-handed knitter, or a left-handed knitter who knits like a right-handed, the stitches need to be on the left needle as you start each row. Happy knitting! 🧶

I feel like I keep making bad slip knots when trying to do the second row ☹️ I don’t know how to fix this
@KnitWithHannah3 жыл бұрын
Hi Sarah, If your stitches feel like knots you may have cast on tightly or added the stitches to the needle backwards. You may also be knitting into the back of the stitch instead of the front. Be sure to watch this tutorial to double-check the details: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pqWmlId5qK18i5I

@@KnitWithHannah thank you!! I will check it out now, was almost on the verge of a very tearful frustration 😅 do you know if the aluminum needles would help or worsen the situation? I find my needles constantly slide
@KnitWithHannah3 жыл бұрын
Metal needles can mean you’re pulling tighter on the stitches as they are notoriously slippery. I’d suggest bamboo or wood for beginners, which we do have in our shop with or without full knitting kits.🧶

Your videos are helping me a great deal! Your instructions are very clear! My question is: which way do I place a stitch holder so when it's time to continue knitting it's an easy transition.
@KnitWithHannah4 жыл бұрын
Hi Laurie, I would just say that it will depend on the pattern for which side you're knitting from when you take them off the needle to start again, so the same method won't be the same for every situation. If you can join the Live video on Friday I'll expand more on this then. 😍
