I’m wanting to start a stationery business and I just didn’t know where to start. And I found you. Thank you so much for your videos.

What do you want to sell? Cards, low content books, etc. There are a lot of videos and some people have courses. But normally you start with one product, once you decide the product you start to research what is the market and how to produce it, this will tell you what is your investment.

Hi! this video was super helpful. I want to start a personal stationery business, making notepads, notebooks, planners, and personalized canvas bags. I like being a hands-on designer, mainly for the bags. Do you recommend hiring a printer for this type of business? any other advice would be super helpful thnak you

Really helpful thank you. Starting out with greeting cards. Finding it very tricky to start from printing to affording the software , had to buy laptop, printer, illustrator all while in lockdown. Trying to keep going . If out sourcing how many prints would you recommend to buy to start off ? Some companies do min 25 I notice of each design. Times that by 4 in a collection is 100 which is very expensive to start . Any suggestions ?

Hi! I’m excited for you!!! It’s a fun journey! For greeting cards you’ll have smaller margins per sale but will want to be selling a lot and probably eventually have wholesale accounts with boutiques and stores to sell for you. That being said - when starting out you can always take preorders or do market research with your audience before ordering so you can see which cards are going to be most popular and base your order quantities off that!

Hi would you be willing to share all the permits needed to start this business legally like a sole proprietor, Llc etc..
@DesignbyLaney2 жыл бұрын
It’ll depend a lot on your specific situation! I would Google “business registration” + your county and it’ll give you instructions ! You can start as a sole prop but then as you get larger you can become an LLC to protect your assets a bit more ! But I’d get advice from an accountant for your specific situation ! Lastly, you’ll likely need a local sales tax license for your state and I’d also recommend an EIN / federal tax id which is super easy to sign up for online. That will help you sign up for wholesale accounts with vendors.

If you look at the etymology of the word intercourse, you’ll find it means conversation. Of course, today we attach a much different meaning to it. 😊
