Good to see you chaps working together. Keep telling you though, those are not simply cracks, but rather joints in the geological sense, having formed during deep burial, heating and deformation of the rocks early during their genesis as fracture networks. Exploited by exhumation, erosion, elastic/chemical expansion and roots alike they become "cracks", near surface. Joints generally come in sets of three, more or less at right angles. Look for the sub-horizontal basal joints abutting the perpendicular vertical ones. They always carry, at an intersection. Hope this is helpful and does not sound too pedantic. Great vid! Best all.

Hi Jason, PTSD is a real bitch to learn to live with and overcome. It's good to hear your getting out panning and not simply "locked away" inside your house too scared to go outside, fresh air mixed with sunshine and physical activity is only one thing that will help you to overcome your fears. Careful controlled exposure to the things that cause you the most panic will, over time, help you to either control your stress or to overcome it. Don't try to be "tough" by bottling things up inside you and not talking about it as this can only make it worse. Good luck on your recovery and I hope your prospecting rewards you in more ways than one.

Nicely Done! Fun people, good at something, working together to teach... ...and not taking themselves too seriously either! It's a rare and generous combination. Thank You! If you haven't seen them, you might look into getting a pointed chisel too... ...not sure what they're called 'Down Under,' but they're called a "gad point chisel" in the US. Estwing makes a cantilevered pry-bar with one (18" long and forged as one piece)... ...they're amazing at the junction of cracks, and at starting them... ...Two Toes (youtube) has one ("good ole GP-18"), and he gets great use out of it on that California bedrock... ...Pretty good with crevices too; I love mine! Regular pan all the way, almost everything else is designed to catch the gold prospector not the gold. It's not that they don't work, far from it, but you'll have more control and better end results with a regular pan.
