I am right there with you. But I just always remind myself that it is possible no one will watch, which is actually a good thing! You can be yourself and play around because there are not a lot of eyes on you. I got more used to it by posting multiple times a day on snap and insta stories to my close friends. Once I was confident in that, I expanded to everyone on snap and insta. After I felt confident about that I started making youtube videos and doing lives! :) The more you do it, the better it will be. Start making videos that you know you will never post and that will help raise your comfort and charisma on camera

The hardest thing for me was worrying about how I look, is it too late for me to start (I’ve wanted to for 5 years and made up every excuse why I can’t do it yet), nervousness, how do I juggle it with my life...2020 I told myself no more excuses- JUST DO IT. So quarantine has been a golden opportunity for me to film in bulk so when I do finally release, I can post consistently. I have about a dozen videos in my queue that I’ll be releasing within the next week. The more I record, the more I learn and the better I feel. I tune out the negative voices and as you and Nike say: JUST DO IT! 😅

That's a total valid fear to have and most people in the public eye will eventually have haters. You just have to remember it's never ever anything against you personally and just someone finding an easy outlet for their own insecurities or anger or emotions they are having trouble releasing in a healthy way. If or when it happens try to remember that along with looking at some positives like even their hate will help your engagement in the algorithm. I think you should start. theres no better time than the present!!! I support you and your future successes.

Just something for everyone to know - When you start, your first few videos will be a bit crap and you'll probably act different on camera compared to how you act in real life. You probabskr won't realise you're doing it when you are but when you look back you'll realise. But as you film more videos you'll get more comfortable in front of the camera. Everyone goes through it. Don't compare your now to some big youtubers now bc I'm sure if you scroll all the way back to their first video you'll see they started out the same way. It takes time to become comfortable. Just talk to you camera or phone as if it's your friend not as if you're talking to a camera. Also another thing, I feel like a lot of these videos mention "or you could film on your iPhone" but that doesn't mean you can't film on your Android phone. I think most people forget androids exist bc iPhone is the majority which isn't true. So honestly android or iPhone as long as you have good lighting you'll be fine. Lighting is more key than a camera etc. I recommend just buying a ring light from eBay. They're really cheap. You don't need a big one. Just get a small one

I've been wanting to start a KZbin channel for a while. My ultimate dream is to be a multi-hyphenate, but I want to know how to balance everything first. The reason I haven't started is because I desire to be in a happier station of life first. Hopefully, within the next 6 months, I will be ready. As for now, I have been on the more passive side of researching. I am trying to stay focused in grad school because I started my first business this semester and I was so excited to start it I practically ignored grad school. Hi Erin, i was just surfing on KZbin when I should have been getttting ready for work!!!!! Let me tell you.....i am so glad that I stumbled on your channel. I have been wanting to start a youtube channel for a while now and my biggest fear or something that challenges me is the lack of knowledge in how to start a channel esp. because i am horribly bad at technology. A lot of extremely you tubers who set out to give tips on starting a youtube channel seem to go too fast and leave a lot of helpful information out. I have to say you are the first person I’ve seen to really break the system down. I don’t mind paying for knowledge even tho at times i wish people like you would put out more helpful videos likes these but at the end of the day if I’m paying, i want to feel like i left with something that i can continue to build from and not still be as clueless as i did before shelling out all my Benjamin’s. The hardest part has been finding my niche, i tried to start and forced myself to talk about my work stuff and I wanted to do waaaaaay too many things at once. Also I didn't do research such as watching videos like this. I recently decided that I am going to start a business, and I have been doing so much research on the best strategies on how to do so. The one thing that was holding me back was fear of not succeeding! I am putting all that fear and anxiety into putting forth my best effort to use my passions to serve others through creating content and starting a business to uplift Black voices. There is no reason why I cannot use my skills and passions to provide for myself and help others along the way. Every time I watch your videos I have to take notes , SOOO much great information! The hardest part for me in starting my channel has been : 1) fear that no one will be interested in my content 2) lack of knowledge when it comes to video editing 3) consistency- it’s so hard to continue to put out content when you feel no one is watching or things are not moving as fast as they could be !
