This is great but I don’t know where to start to actually practice this and I think I need to have a better understanding of all the chord inversions first. I can’t play each chord up and down the neck yet without thinking about it in various ways

How did you simplify the chords into those small shapes?
@LoGsounds Жыл бұрын
These small shapes distill the chords into just 1-3-5 (in various order), without doubling anything. The order of each chord is different just to keep everything playable in this small position. The Am is E-A-C, 5-1-b3 (feels like a D minor chord shape that I'm playing at the 8th fret) Dm is F-A-D, b3-5-1 (top three strings only of a standard Dm bar chord at the 10th fret) G is D-G-B, 5-1-3 (feels like a D major chord shape that I'm playing at the 7th fret) Hope that helps.
