Hey just letting you know, if somebody is judging you for how fast you can or cannot run or how you look while running or anything really, rather than feeling sorry for yourself feel sorry for them. I mean they have nothing better to do than judge someone genuinely trying their best, their negativity says far more about them than it ever will about you. Stay winning 😤

So let me get this straight: This girl got a 1580 the very first time she took the SAT, got into UCLA, got a 169 on the LSAT *WITHOUT STUDYING* AND WITHOUT EVEN WANTING TO BECOME A LAWYER! Now, she is talking about how she became a fit recruited distance runner in three years....
@cookiesarelikecream3 жыл бұрын
Her SAT score came from a lot of studying though and she’s always been very diligent about school. I find that a lot of people aren’t as diligent about school when it comes to a study schedule and just aim to get the homework done, which is why they may have to retake the SAT. Her entire channel is about giving us study tips. She got into UCLA because she never stopped working hard and committed to many different extra curriculars, not just track. Her high LSAT score makes sense because she is very intelligent and the LSAT is more about scenarios and reasoning rather than memorizing facts. She’s done so well for herself but I do think that these are things that anyone can achieve if they put their mind to it and stick to a schedule.

I first started cross country because I didn't want to play baseball that year and I thought to myself: oh, I run a lot at practice.. I knew the coach and he recommended me to start, so I did. I started in the middle of the season like two weeks before the first race. ..I couldn't run a mile.. Did that demotivate me? Not at all. It was a learning experience and I loved it. It was something I could improve on. The people I met also encouraged me and so, I encouraged myself. The first few practices were really REALLLY bad. The greatest piece of advice my coach gave me was to never stop running. It didn't matter if you were going really slow, as long as you kept going. Soon enough I managed from a 10 minute mile to a 6 minute mile. I recommend running to everybody and it's truly changed my life and I can't wait for it next year.

Running also a patient sport so always be patient when start running, start slow never immediately run fast, even you have start with fast walking if you never have running exercise before. Start with fast walking regularly then mix fast walking with slow running. In time reduce the walking and increase the running. Then after getting better in run you can running without walking or even stop longer than before

I’ve been trying, for the first time in my life, to have a regular workout routine. I want to be a runner so badly! I started by walking a mile and running one block length, and then 2, and then 3… I’m on 4 now and extremely proud! Hopefully I’ll get fit enough to run a mile, and then never stop!

Can I just say I am not an athletic person and I joined cross country - by far the worst on the team and never experienced such a more supportive environment. After every race when I was the last coming in my whole team was there cheering me on. It made me laugh every time and never worried about how bad I was in comparison only worried about personal improvement. I PRd every race still in dead last but it was still very fulfilling. Love running.

I love running so much but, because I live in the middle of the forest, the bears have been much more numerous and agressive this year. I started taking my dog out running with me and it was alright but then I had a close encounter with a bear and I’ve stopped running entirely. Thank you for this video, I really got to get out again. (I just really don’t wanna get eaten by a bear)

I’m trying to get in shape and part of that is jogging the long way to the gym instead of walking. I track my mile times on my Fitbit. About weeks ago my mile time was 10:58. I ran this morning at it was 9:32! If I can do it, anybody can!!! I believe in you all!!

Questions for runners i have but keep forgetting to ask: -how ofen do your wash your hair? (does it get gross/greasy) -do you wash your face? (before and after or just after?) -do you always run at the same time everyday? -how many days a week do you run/wrk out?

Tip! When running, set checkpoints for yourself! In the distance you can see, pick a point far away to be your checkpoint and tell yourself that you only have to run till there. Keep setting checkpoints until you need to walk
@darude1420 Жыл бұрын
One small advice is, consider your form. Mentally you might want to survive your run by making it feel as easy as possible (very short steps) but if you dont run in a way that feels completely natural, it ends up being more difficult and longer to reach your goal.

I love seeing people run or walk. Anyone who is out there trying to improve themselves has my respect. Also, don’t get discouraged by what others are doing. It takes time, especially as you get older. When I was younger, I ran about a 16:48 5k. I am now 51 years old and I can run around a low 22 or high 21 minute 5k. When I was younger it literally took me about a month to get to where I can run 16s and 17s. Now, it has taken me almost 2 years to get my time down from about a 30 to a 22. Older runners need to be patient. My goal is a sub 20. Happy running y’all.

I''ve been running for 10 years but I find these videos entertaining, and always find some nuggets of wisdom. When I'm having social anxiety about getting out the door, I do a similar technique as the school tshirt, but instead I wear old race shirts for 10K to marathon distance and that always makes me feel like a badass. Before I actually ran any races, I went to the thrift shop and bought some race shirts.

At my high school, we only do 1 year of PE and the teacher makes us do 1 mile every 2 weeks (the weeks in between we do 1/2 mile and 3/4 mile). The first time I ran it I ran it in 14:30~ minutes. I absolutely died as it was after quarantine and I was still in potato state. I started to resent PE due to that. It's been a few months now, and besides from that first few runs, I've begun to really enjoy running and can run a 8:50 mile now! I'm gong to keep improving myself and try out for the cross country team next year, as I didn't apply during that first month. I'm definitely going to join the track and field team in the spring though, got invited by my PE teacher & the T&F/CC coach to try my hand at running shorter distances. Thanks for partly inspiring me!
