I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

Hi Joy, we have a lot of resources regarding investing at Clark.com. The type of retirement fund you open may determine the company you want to use. Generally, Team Clark likes Vanguard Group, Fidelity Investments and Charles Schwab for a retirement account like a Roth IRA. But don't we lose all that hard earn saving money if we even invest. But yes i'm in the middle stage of learning how to save and that is knowing that if i really need that and now i'm at the part of calculating the price and be a regular customer cause sometimes it does help specially when employees knows you and you get good discount sometimes. But what i learned about investing and what many young people tend to fail at and i know i am a young adult but i learned i should invest in something that is for the long run and something that helps people like sickness and their well being. I see people invest in things that can go away or don't even contribute anything.

Depends on the savings. If you're talkin MM, yeah, you're gonna lose every time. The goal is near maximum liquidity. If you're talkin 401k and Roth, then you'll come out average or better pretty much every time, especially over a long period. That's the tradeoff. Liquidity and risk for growth.
@mattm597 Жыл бұрын
Employer-matched 401Ks are great, because you are guaranteed a 100% return by the match regardless what the markets do. But if you contribute more than the match, the wisdom of 401Ks become much more questionable. By contributing beyond the company match, you are betting your future tax rate will be lower than or equal to your present rate, which is unlikely the way things are going. You don't get a "tax break." You get a tax deferment.
