Opening the map and plotting out the route really does help us newbies (this is like the only game I play where at 120 hours in I still feel like a newbie) follow along. And man, you are cranking these things out!! :)👍

1:30 somehow my royal always ends up being a fuel truck so I never knew that it can’t do crane + low saddle things. That’s a bummer
@zorshix11 ай бұрын
Yeah it's one of "those" trucks. 😕 It also can't connect trailers with the crane and sideboard add-ons, or with the medium logging add-on. The frame is just short on it.

Found out your channel last night after messing about for 6 hours tipping over lol. Thanks for these, I seem to do it wrong, I took the biggest trucks to haul the smallest loads because it looks nice. About to jump on and try this method.
@zorshix3 ай бұрын
I try to use trucks that are just big enough for the job. It helps with agility when you keep it smaller.

@@zorshix I got progress thanks to your guide. Absolute banger of content. For the most part I've used the GMC since I somehow sold the one you are driving. I'm at episode 4 now from this series, on to the next. Why such a limited viewers here? I think yours are the best and most easy to understand and follow from all of them. I wouldn't even mind watching live gameplay/commentary. I do have two small questions tho, how do you (prefer to) play the game? I installed my g29 again and man, just like farming it's handy to have the keyboard with all the buttons. I'm not sure, but with the wheel I feel like I'm reaching all the time for my keyboard and can't lean back lol. And since I don't own any of the dlcs, what is your favorite dlcs? Might try a Xbox controller in a wee bit, see if that works.

@ibi2227 great questions/points. The GMC is a great truck but lacking awd will eventually be a struggle in Alaska. You can buy trucks back after selling them if you want to give the Royal a go. The White Western Star is also a great alternative to that. I play on PC with an Xbox controller. I have found it's the best for me since it has quick response to the ever changing environments. The wheel is a lot of fun but does make the game much more difficult to play (especially with quick winching). Having said that, play it how you want there's no wrong way. DLC preference is subjective but IMO the year 1 DLC bundle is the best content of the entire game. The maps are much more difficult than later DLCs and you don't get all the super OP trucks but the gameplay is one of a kind and an experience you won't forget. Views? Well my channel is relatively new and for some reason the Alaska series is the least watched out of all of them I've done. Not sure why but it is what it is. Thanks for enjoying my work though! 🙂

Can anyone explain to me, what is the difference between the contracts and the tasks? I'm doing some of each, but it doesn't feel like I'm making progress somehow. I thought the contracts are the "storyline" Missions and the tasks the "sidemissions" Like gta and such.
@zorshix3 ай бұрын
The contracts are jobs that corporations and large organizations hire you to do in the region (they usually pay more and are larger) and tasks are typically smaller jobs that the Locals hire you to do. Not always the case but usually.

How good is that truck? The royal
@zorshix2 ай бұрын
It's moderately good. It doesn't have diff lock (main downside) but paired with the highrange gearbox and using auto instead of low gear will get you through most stuff. It does have taller tires which helps also.
@just_a_sushi2 ай бұрын
@@zorshix thanks, how does it compare to the white western star that you get from Michigan? Been using it here in alaska and it's pretty strong, but wanted to change things up a bit
@zorshix2 ай бұрын
@just_a_sushi The WWS is a good contender because it has great ground clearance even with 47 "tires, and also diff lock capable. The Royal has the option to install 51" tires for greater clearance, and the series of engines are a bit stronger than the WWS engines. Both have advantages and disadvantages and are very comparable in the end. The WWS is a bit more stable too however if you're using the Royal's raised suspension.
@just_a_sushi2 ай бұрын
@@zorshix thanks I'm gonna use the royal once I get some of the upgrades. Is there any guide you've made or a guide you can point me towards that tells me what's the best configuration for each truck? Tires especially?
@zorshix2 ай бұрын
@@just_a_sushi I don't have a guide for that but generally speaking I tend to use UOD II and OHD I offroad tires on most all of my trucks. Occasionally I use chained tires in certain situations but they don't perform as well in snow and mud.
