Great video ,Charlie it looks like Harris came at the right time before he gets more independent and wouldn't come back at all,nip it in the bud early while he's at the puppy stage

I recently lost my 14 year old cocker spaniel to cancer this year. I’m refreshing my memory by watching your videos. It wasn’t easy training him 😅 but I loved every minute of it. Goofy loving animals ❤

Great video, thank you! We’re in a similar position with a working dog in a residential area, so I can relate to some of the concerns raised. Our working Cocker is now one year old, and it’s definitely still a work in progress. We massively underestimated how challenging it would be, but we’ve fully adjusted to meet the needs of this incredible breed. It’s been worth it, though-we’ve got a fantastic little dog!

Brilliant video. I wish I could have watched this a few months ago. I have a 10 month working cocker in an urban environment, and I have done exactly what the couple have in your video. She now pulls like a train when on the lead. I am definitely going to follow the advice in this video.

This is a great video. I think I am at the point now where my 15 month cocker is displaying sings of overconfidence - overly keen to greet others, head down through the brambles ignoring recall etc. You mention needing to balance the training, removing some of the confidence where necessary. It would be really useful if you could give so tips on the types of things to bring into training to try and achieve this balance.

Totally agree with this comment. My 8month cocker had shy tendencies but is going the other way a bit. A video on avoiding over confidence and correcting when it does happen would be fabulous please Charli🙏

I loved this video, it's so helpful to see age appropriate training for pet gun dogs rather than pure working dogs. This was so helpful for tips and the reality of introducing a puppy to the full outside world. Plus Harris is gorgeous 😍 Looking forward to something on not chasing livestock. Im walking my 5mth lab past a well fenced field of sheep at the moment so they become an everyday part of life.

Love your channel, my working cocker is a lovely boy, But I kind of reached a plateau. He’s very confident and a bit teenagery. So I am stepping back doing more work in the house and garden. No treats..only rewards. More play and all “walks” are training sessions. Ultimately I want him off lead but realise it’s a slow process. Getting him to run before he can walk.

I noticed the harness right away and knew it would come up 😅. Harris is a lovely little dog and props to the owners for putting in the effort. I do get the struggle of living in a busy environment and trying to give your dogs some freedom while being safe and at the same time learning them to behave. This lesson was interesting and it made me curious about the whole process when buying a dog at Mordor. How do you select potential owners? Can people choose a pup to some degree or is it done for them? Do you keep tabs on all Mordor dogs and their new families? How often does it happen a dog gets returned?

There are slip leads with a stopper.

We have an 8 month old pup. A little female black lab. She’s a little bit timid. Up to now she’s doing great but she’s somewhat noisy. She doesn’t whine but barks. We also have her litter sister who is very quiet and we hardly hear a noise from her. Have you got any tips to stop the noise? It’s spoiling what is otherwise developing into a lovely shooting dog.

This was very interesting. I have a springer female, love her to bits but she appears stressed a lot of the time. She does the anxious yawn a lot. She doesn’t like my cat so we have to keep them separate. Do you have any videos about this please.

I've a 11 month cocker.... she's been on a figure of 8 and still pulls. My dog trainer has said a harness, lots of treats and the drunken walk. All she's done is bite my fingers and started jumping up. Will this work with her if I "started again"? Please n fanks x
