inside of OBS, where you add sources to your scene, there should be an option to add a window. When the box comes up, change the setting to a specific window, then look for the magic mirror window with your avatar! you will also need to add a filter to your avatar to remove the green. the filter is called "chroma key" or just "chroma" cheers!

So for the sake of argument, if money isn't a problem, how would one go about getting the really intricate avatars capable of ultra expressive eyes and faces that some people are using?

I am working on another tutorial, but there are ways of adding blendshapes to Vroid models to allow them to achieve more expression. if money really isnt an issue, you can also get a live2D model commisioned, however that is close to 1K+

I am new to the whole VTubing idea and ive chosen to go the 3D rout instead of the more common 2D or PNG route seince im already used to making 3D models the probelms I run into is finding programs to tack my face and hand movements that are free and have a decent quality to work over my live streams

vseeface is probably the best bet. hand tracking will require some hardware called a LeapMotion, but that can be pricy.

You don't have to be lucky to stream or be a Vtuber. It's a bit luck-based if you want lots of fans, but honestly the more I look at that the more I think... nah. Not for me. Having a small but tight-knit following is a great joy and provides you with opportunities to do things that make a lot less sense when you go big. Some people should spend time finding and enjoying people that *do* love them rather than being jealous of the people with swarms of fans.

I love streaming with my friends! It's honestly a ton of fun and helps with one of the biggest problems for newer streamers, which is it gives you some energy to bounce off of while your chat is slower!

An alternative that I found is called 3tene on Steam Unfortunately, I do not have a mac to test if its good or how it works, but it looks like it still works with vroid models! best of luck!

yes you can use streamlabs, since it is based on OBS like streamelements. i personally do not like streamlabs since it is very predatory with its subscription model, as well as the creators of OBS not being happy with streamlabs use of monitization.
