I do not know why there are so many 10 minute videos on this topic, so in 60 seconds I'm going to show you how you can start Original Sin 2 with multiple characters while playing solo.

This is great. It feels like opening games 4 times would be too much for a computer.... but mine did handle okay (bit laggy). A tip for older systems can be to just turn all graphics super low, as low as possible.... then once you have saved the game with 4 characters you need.... just close the 3 extra instances... and then turn up graphics back to wherever you wanted them.

NHK LM I agree, but I believe it's done because the dev's want players to invest in the stories of their premade characters. I wish the game allowed for a greater focus and greater variation on custom characters I'm also a console player and, from what I hear, custom characters in the sequel feel out of place in the story. It makes me hesitant to buy it tbh

3 years later, while 4 custom characters is not possible on console you can make two by playing local co op with 2 controllers (you need two profiles) and then drop out with controller 2P, but the custom character will remain. The same can be done on PC, but PC also has the benefit of mods, that allows you to increase the party size and can be used to save all the other characters, plus having more customs in the party. You can always wait until Act 2 as well and recruit mercenaries, they are fully customizable (you can even change their names. I like customs as well, If I play in console I make Ifan my main and I wait until Act 2 to recruit a merc (the female elf), if I play in PC, I make both Ifan and my female custom elf as protagonists.

@@SeventhheavenDK you can open the game normally, and hit play game on the client a couple times until you have the 4 games opened at the same time, just wait for each one to load individually and make sure you have enough ram lmao, it can crash if it uses all the ram. Also I don't think it was worth it, it is better to have one custom character or none if possible, so you can actually get the interactions and story of the premade characters. Using custom ones is like playing an incomplete game cause 90% of good interactions happen in specific story parts of the og characters. Good luck

its easily to miss if you dont follow the origin storyline quest from the character and if you do you can still screw up by giving wrong anwers in a specific dialogue

Honestly, maybe not. The game doesn't eat that much CPU. Even less so in the menu. It may not be smooth, but it should be doable.

Is there a way to remove the player avatar after you created the game? Because there's no character interaction if all of the characters are considered player characters. I'm asking because I started a game with 2 buddies of mine, but one of them decided that he no longer wants to play, but we want to continue with the story with an ally that will interact with us.

+Cody Elliott I don't believe you can :/ I've even tried killing the avatars off before progressing through the main story to no avail. You might have to wait for an update or a mod. It really does suck, the interactions are hilarious.

If you play on honor mode you can better optimize characters and the boat is easier.

So that the boat is easier? But it's not even difficult! If you are doing this on normal difficulty than you suck, if you're doing it on tactician than what's the bloody point just go play on normal difficulty if its too hard for you. The difficulty of the game is balanced and paced very well, there's no need to try and find such a cheap work around, besides it supposedly ruins your character interactions, so fuck that.

@@AtreyusNinja no, it isn't. I will explain you. The video is old, and Larian was created their launcher aprx 1 year ago. And they moved the .exe. I found it yesterday, but if you run the game multiple times you cannot join it as the older versions. So i downloaded a pirate version for this.

Original Sin 2 is such a massive disappointment. In the first game, starting the game and creating two characters and shaping your blank slate's relationship and story was easily the most unique thing about it. It was the one thing about the game that it did differently from every other generic RPG. So in the sequel...they killed the one thing that made the franchise stand out.

In my experience, this method unfortunately no longer works. The debug client is using an older version of the game. You won't be able to play definitive, and if I remember correctly, you aren't able to save in debug. You will also not be able to play those characters in newer versions of your game. Used to work, now it doesn't. Boooo. :^(

Just tested, still works. Just make a new profile - don't use the debug profile.
