Stealing is one thing, stealing millions from the people who need it most is another. But stealing millions you don’t need from people who need it far more than you do is quite possibly the most heinous form of theft.

How to steal millions from those who need it the most? Easy answer...by sitting at the house and refusing to go to work or make any attempt to better your life and collecting a free check...taken from the dime of the hard working middle class Americans...who go to work and have to foot that bill...FICAOASD is highway robbery...what did people do to earn the welfare money they collect... people who are on welfare are robbing Americans...flat out ..the people who need help the most are the middle class Americans who want to be home owners but are stuck in a check to check cycle...why on the other hand people on welfare are living in high class hotels with amenities like a on call maintenance man...so since when did we start feeling bad for people who are on welfare lol...here's the bafoonery in the premise of the favre allegations...Favre to money from the welfare fund to put into the Mississippi educational system for higher learning...aka to help out some college kids...he didn't use the money to buy a boat or live a lavish life...he got money...he uses the money to invest in a Mississippi based college sports program...and a pharmaceutical start up for concussion meds...sounds like a hero to me...your a leech...who is yourself profiting off of the name of Favre by creating this elaborate video which I'm sure is monetized...you could have made more money if you had just went to Quantico and became a special agent for the federal bureau of investigations....

As a kid who was born and raised in Mississippi, this is embarrassing. I was born in Hattiesburg, I am a fan of USM sports, my family mostly consists of USM allumni, some of them who went to college with Farve. And this? This a spit in the face of the people of Mississippi. If you even go 5 miles out from any large city's downtown area there, you can see the economic wasteland the majority has to deal with. Farve and the government officials of Mississippi have disappointed me to the fullest extent. And what a shame, many people there affected will never get to hear this case because the media never likes to talk bad about the celebrities of Mississippi. A goddamn embarrassment this is.

Universities don't really care about the people around them. Notre dame is another college where the town around it is an economic wasteland. They make insane money with sports and academic research but don't care about their essential workers who are underpaid and face threats of their housing being turned into parking lots and malls. Many universities also gentrify when they expand their campuses and butt heads with the city politics over it. They supposedly "contribute" to their cities economy but the people at the bottom never benefit from it.

We have the same problem here in Kentucky. We actually have great state leadership again. It’s the local politicians that are so corrupt. And it is absolutely disgusting, you’re right. Just the blatantness of it all. And as an average citizen you feel so powerless against it all. But at least the whistle was blown on this case. With all the digital evidence these days, more and more of these cases will be discovered. These computer derived pieces of evidence can’t be burned like pieces of paper. They’re around forever. And for people with things to hide, I hope they lose sleep over it until they’re caught.

Pretty sickening to see how far from everyday struggles from most impoverished individuals Favre got. And how he gleefully laundered money to fund a pet project to please his own daughter, being consciously done or not. Especially in one of the most impoverished state in the US. From an European viewer, jfc, I'm glad these great journalists and honest State auditors brought the scam to light. Everyone involved in the scandal needs to be behind bars, Favre included. Thank you for doing this video, this was absolutely eye-opening and needed. Cheers from France, brother.

Thank you for putting this out there, and for linking your sources and how to donate to the journalists who investigated this I really appreciate that your love for the game and the culture surrounding football extends well beyond what happens on the field You’re able to humanize its stars and also hold them accountable. I love football, and I acknowledge it is very flawed in many ways. I have seen it create incredible opportunities for so many of my fellow Polynesians, but I have also seen that it has taken a major physical and mental toll on many of its players. I have also seen many celebrities of the game ruin many lives with little consequence. I think we deserve better from football, and I think sparking honest discussion like you have is important if we want this game and this culture to improve

I think when you get into it, there needs to be a close look at how many different states use federal funds. As a former state employee, I know from experience that my state made a real kabuki dance out of moving those funds around to get the State leader's priorities paid for. Farve wasn't doing anything that isn't being done in states all over the country. If you really want to cook a snake, take a close look at the governor whose watch this took place on. Bryant is a smarmy good old boy holy roller. None of this would have happened if he hadn't pulled strings.

It's why we should have gone back to the old ways of having people apply and if they qualify for assistance they receive it directly from the federal government instead of block grants to states. We changed the policy because politicians, Reagan being one, started beating the drum beat people out there were committing fraud with very little evidence other than a few people here or there. Instead we went to block grants in which fewer people receive funds and a lot of money often gets diverted into areas it's not intended for and/or corruption such as the Favre case. They wanted to get rid of corruption but ended up creating more and a less efficient system because after all, we don't really want to help poor people.

Great stuff as always. I think the reason we focus on Favre is the way it reads almost like a Greek play. We have a man who is beloved in his field making piss-poor decisions and, like King Midas, the downfall is in the daughter. Doubly ironic considering this was just a couple years ago. My reaction as a football fan is the money could have been made easily by someone like Favre right now with a few Draft Kings spots, maybe a new show to compete with Peyton and Eli, turning to acting to steal roles from Ron Perlman, basically anything. The chances were there and, like Favre sometimes did on the field, he threw it away (it got intercepted if you will). That's all on Favre. The rest of these people are slime. And I sincerely hope every state in the Union takes a good long look at all this stuff.

It's funny how this isn't on every day blast in sports media but Kaepernick and Vick were even though they did less. I wonder what the difference could be.

Kaep literally didn’t do anything wrong either-you can disagree with what he did, but that’s a long way from him doing something wrong Also, don’t want to downplay what Vick did. Both that and what Farve has done are evil, not worth quibbling what’s worse

Really aren't surprised by greed anymore. It's a shame people that already have millions feel they need more instead of doing good without. When you already have more money than you can probably spend, why do you need more? It's even worse when they use a guise like welfare to get money. Hopefully karma is real and it comes back to bite them.

To every Republican candidate who claims your party is better economically, can you explain Mississippi, a state which your party has governed for at least the last 40 years? To every voter who votes for Republican candidates because that party is 'better on the economy', can you explain Mississippi, which the Republican party has governed for at least the last 40 years? What % of politics is bull-shit? What % of Americans are gullible?

As someone who grew up in Wisconsin during the early 2000's who idolized Brett Favre, it's been really tough to watch this all play out. Part of me hopes that it's a big misunderstanding but the other part of me knows he almost certainly did it. If nothing else, I hope this whole ordeal causes everyone to reevaluate how much public money we spend on sports and sports stadiums in this country. Lane Kiffin makes 8.5 mil a year as head coach for Ole Miss, and even if not as explicit as what Favre did, that money is still being taken out of the hands of the people of Mississippi. Hell, SoFi Stadium cost $4 billion to build in a state with one of the biggest homelessness crises in the world. We as a society need to decide if we're upset about what Brett Favre actually did or if we just don't like the optics of it all
