Wow.. thank you SO much. I've inherited a VERY old clarinervium from a family member that passed, who inherited it from another family member that passed when I was a kid (at least 20 years ago) the old gal has two HUGE stems on them and one of them is losing its last leaf... I cant wait to make this heirloom last another 20 years! 🥰

So wonderful to finally find a site to help understand I have a plan like this I was calling it a peace lily but this one look as close to it with the stem anyhoo I was gone for like 2 weeks never had a problem with my plant in water this was given to me by dear lady friend and she had to plant for a long long time but when I get back home the plant had I guess you say look right but the plant still has a stem a flower a leaf the other leaf are brown and dried so I cut it hopefully it can be sprout and I cut the root part off &cut up to where it look ok and plant 1stub &put leaf 1in water. I hope I did the right thing any suggestion would be greatly appreciated from anyone in the comment section thank you so much 🙂

Does this method work with other plants? I received a xanthosoma lindenii in the mail completely rotted with the roots somewhat ok. Hoping i could revive it 😢. Also, propagating in pearlite, can you leave the bag closed until you see leaf growth or do you open it once in a while? Thanks! Love all the tips you provide :)

Maybe it's a dumb question but: I have leaves on my anthurium. How do you propagate them and keep the leaves? And what do you do with the bottom parts where all the roots are? Can it grow back once you've cut all the stem away?
@ThePlantsMeow
@ThePlantsMeow 4 жыл бұрын
Chloé Dilé I don’t seal them in a bag if they have leaves due to possible bacterial issues. I usually just put them in a vase. If you are just cutting the top and leaving the bottom with roots in soil it will eventually grow a new growth point 🤗

Do you ever have problems with mold? And if so, what do you do? I have a queen chunk that had some dead material on one side and after a few days it is getting some fuzzy white mold. I have now removed that section and am letting it callous over for a few hours. I also applied to hydrogen peroxide with a q tip. Any other suggestions? Don't want to lose this baby!

I have an anthurium that had arrived to nursery from Thailand in really bad shape. I got it for a steal but it lost its last leaf several months ago. I have it in the soil mix you did a video on, in a net pot, under a grow light and with humidity above 60%. It's roots are strong and about two inches long but every time I see any sign of green on top it isn't there the next time I look. Would putting in a bag help? Any suggestions? I know it is hard because you don't know my conditions but any thing you can think of would help. I really want it to LIVE! lol Thanks!

This is so helpful! I inherited a beautiful anthurium with pink flowers (not flowers...I didn’t remember the name) from my late grandmother, and (clearly) I’m a beginner with this plant. It seems to be overtaking its pot, so I’m carefully studying different prop methods. Just don’t want to lose her! When I cut the stem, should I remove the leaves?

Would you do this only with recently shipped plants or plants that are stumps? How would you do this with ones that have leaves or just leave them alone? I noticed that Anthuriums that are doing well tend to self head and subdivide.
@ThePlantsMeow
@ThePlantsMeow 4 жыл бұрын
Paula Bollers I do this when they first arrive, plants that revert to stumps, and/or when they grow leggy overtime due to leaf drop. When they have leaves I don’t put them as bag as this could cause bacterial issues. I usually just put them in a vase lol (especially when one develops rot and I just want to rehab in some perlite 😊)
