Another Sunday another Propagation 😊Wrapping moss around the stem is not only beneficial to Anthuriums. What is your favorite method of propagation and have you ever tried WATER PROPAGATION on Anthurium ??? UPDATES on the cuttings here at 22:38 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKemfIeqnbyJf6M

I was given one from someone who was moving and did not have the ability to bring with them. It was dry when I got it, and the change of environment made it even worse. There was no saving it. All the leaves turned brown, dried to a crisp, and fell off. I was left with nothing but the root ball. So I said forget it, and as a last-ditch effort, I watched this video and began cutting. I cut into 5 different pieces, put into a mix of peat moss, pearlite, and orchid bark, and covered with a plastic bag to create humidity. Today, I have 3 leaves that grew from 3 different cuttings, one beginning to sprout from the 4th and nothing yet from the 5th, but I changed the soil and am seeing where it goes. It's so exciting. I have no experience with these plants, but I am hoping to start anew and give them the best environment I can ❤

That's wonderful! 4/5 is a great success rate. Well done, from your story I can already tell you're doing your best to provide great care to those little plants. Crossing my fingers they keep up the growth 🤞💚

Yeah these were quite the tight cuts 😅😅 So glad you enjoyed the video, Crystallinum is a great plant! Little insider update just for you: I can see an axillary bud growing on 2 of the stem cutting already 😊🤞. I'm hopefull...

Thank you Ama, luckily all the little stem cuttings started to grow new leaves, so all went well in the end 😊💚

Great video, air-layering is SO underrated! Currently air-layering my M. deliciosa by leading aerial roots into small pots of soil which I put on top of the soil of the motherplant, going for about six months now. Fingers crossed! Hope your crystalinum cuttings will thrive!

Great tip with the little soil pots Eline. 6 months should already make for some good roots I guess 🤔. I haven't done it with soil yet but airlayering with soil is probably the absolute best method to prop a plant. Doesn't even need to be transplanted afterwards. Are you planing on cutting your Monstera soon?

Hey! Is it always 100% sure there will be a growth point and later a leaf on each cutting? I thought you needed to see a growth point before making the cutting?

Do you harden the cuttings off first before planting. I was thinking of the bottom of the cutting sitting directly on the soil. Just curious..

Hi :) Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. For cuttings with roots I usually don't cause I don't want the roots to dry out + I am a little lazy sometimes 😅. My previous Anthurium cuttings seemed to be alright though. I'm just keeping an eye on it :)

All the cuttings did well! I got new little baby leaves and the Top Cutting is also growing a new leaf. I did film them for an upcoming Q&A video. I think it's going to be published in 2 weeks.

I'm currently trying out the Dynomyco Mykorrhiza. I have mixed it into my batch of potting soil beforehand. I can't really tell anything so far. Do you know if it can be used in perlite too? I was under the impression it only works in soil.

@Leafy_Luster I use Great White with my PON because that brand is water soluble. I don't know if I would bother putting it in rootless props as it's meant for plants already with roots. I do use it when watering my cuttings in fluval stratum and it certainly hasn't hurt.
@LeafyLuster
@LeafyLuster Жыл бұрын
Yeah I think you're right on that. Wouldn't make much sense on rootles cuttings. Since I usually don't keep my plants in semi hydro I don't really look into solubilty but it's good to know if I ever want to switch a few plants to pon. Thank you for sharing 😊
