It worked on our neighbours german shepherds. When they start to bark for longer times it is time to change the battery.

This thing works. I don't believe in a shock collar and my dog wouldn't quit. Instantly stopped and hasn't since.

I purchased this at Petco and returned it. I tried various settings and locations with no luck. Fortunately, Petco remained true to their refund ($85 device and battery).
