I did not know about the collar grip-push-into-grip-switch to keep the halfguard person down! I'll try it out and talk to my friends about it.

I've been using this almost every day and it works very well against small opponents and those that don't do much with half guard. I've been having a bit more trouble with bigger/more experienced training partners when I back step. They tend to pressure into me to try to off-balance me before I can lean back into them and get the arm under their head. I'm guessing the hand on the collar behind the head should be enough to keep them down but they really want to turn into me and keep my momentum going. Any hints on how to stay more controlled through the backstep and transition to the arm under the head? Thank you so much as this really has been a great addition to my game.
