@melibow20034 жыл бұрын
@@GetGlamFam yes.....I use castor or jojoba oil via the LCO method. It looks great when wet. However, after it dries and I take down my twists or plaits- it looks good for about 30 to 60 minutes. Then it looks like all the moisture is sucked out and the cute style turns into a frizzy fro. I've just learned to do styles that don't require me to wear it out.

Hello... thank you for the information you share, even the overload videos. I do wish that you would put in the information down below the FREE DOWNLOAD HAIR CARE GUIDE. I see playlists and specific aspects of hair videos but no link to the Free Hair Care Guide. Please help this girl out and list it as you advertise it. Already love the videos but a concise guide would be helpful. Also, I saw the concept of porosity addressed with the palm of the hand toward the audience and spreading fingers apart or holding them together. Simple and very clear on how getting moisture and protein into and keeping it in works. High porosity wide spread fingers really demonstrate how it is easy to lose what you need from your hair, and with low porosity how difficult it might be to get what you need in your hair into your hair. To quote you: "I hope that makes sense." Smiling- I do a lot of that with your videos which really ups the appreciation of your presentations. Thank you for the work you put into your videos for us, much appreciated. Personally I think most of us need a little more glam in our lives. QUESTION for you. What DIY home products treatments are you ok with?

I've tried so many drug store products and my hair took so much effort and never went past a certain length. I felt like I was doing everything right and still seeing progress. I have type 4, low porosity fine hair. My long time hair dresser recommended I switch exclusively to salon style products a year ago. I also started getting my trims every 6wks instead of every 3 months. My curls have never looked better and I've retained about 5 inches. I mostly use Morrocanoil and Aveda products. I also find if you buy the bigger bottles you end up saving money in the long run. I've been using the same shampoo and deep conditioner bottles since Nov.

I am salt and pepper. I begin to notice that my curl pattern was broken...my hair was breaking, and strains thinning out and paying her over a hundred dollars for my hair...I notice it, but she said nothing to my damage, so I stop going to her because my hair in some areas straight and some coily. What could I do to get my hair back. I have always had thick below shoulder linked hair, now the front has long thin strains while the rest just is...can't describe...

Hi Linwood- Do you have any insights regarding the following?... What ever happened to the Proud Lady symbol that was so useful in helping to identify black-owned haircare products? Did all the members of AHBAI sell out? I was considering the Giovanni products you mentioned. Then I remembered that I have accepted a challenge to buy black-owned haircare products. So I want to purchase something of comparable quality, but black-owned. No shade or disrespect to any other products... Just wanting my dollars to circulate more within my community. @caraj89494 жыл бұрын
Always great advice. I don't use protein often. Once every 2 months---I don't need it that much. But, when I do I love using Giovanni Nutrafix hair reconstructive (have you used this?). My hair feels both moisturized and strong. I used to use Aubrey GPB, it was too strong and had to stop. I have a question, what are your thoughts on Eden Body Works shampoo and conditioner. Specifically, jojoba monoi shampoo, the same deep conditioner (I DC weekly with heat), and the coconut Shea leave in conditioner? I recently purchased the shampoo and leave in because the DC is good, but I think it will better perform if I use the collection. Thanks for reading and responding.

I have breakage on my ends primarily when combing I have Afro type but really curly hair I’m having a hard time getting my curls to pop as well. I think I need to refine the technique of applying my conditioner when deep conditioning instead of just slapping it on there in the shower. But I really need suggestions on the ends that keep breaking very small pieces. I just started combing and brushing my hair every day which has decreased the breaking and less shedding coming out at once. That was a mistake not to do it although it’s time consuming it’s worth jt. Any suggestions on this I’d love you more for it pwease ❤

According to your guide I have fine, high porosity, low density relaxed color treated hair that I do myself. I started Aphogee 2 step protein treatment with moisturizing conditioner and their reconstructor that I spray on when styling.. I was going to treat my hair every week since I have fine hair and there is a possibility of over-processing. Is this okay, or should I do every two weeks.
@GetGlamFam4 жыл бұрын
If you have relaxed and color treated fine hair, you could probably go for weekly. If the hair begins to feel hard at all, back off of the protein some and focus exclusively on moisture for a while. 😊❤️

@GetGlamFam4 жыл бұрын
I don’t use heat protectants, a lot of them are drying. I usually recommend more frequently deep conditioning with both protein and moisture if you are regularly using heat. Also, make sure you are using a temperature that is specific to your fabric of hair so you are less likely to end up with heat damage. Unfortunately heat protectant doesn’t prevent heat damage.

Linwood, I love your video's. The information you provide is priceless. I would greatly appreciate some advice from you. I have low porosity hair that tends to absorb/hold on to shampoo regardless of how long I rinse after shampooing. I can stand under the shower and rinse my hair to 10-15 minutes and when I add conditioner it lathers up and after rinsing the conditioner out (again another 10-15 minutes) my hair will still lather up when I add my styling products. does hair grown even when it is breaking off?
@daisiesandpandas12183 жыл бұрын
Yes, what's happening at the end of your hair doesn't really affect what's happening to your hair at the scalp. So your hair can be growing from your scalp and be breaking off at the ends, to the human eye, this will look like the hair never grows because the length doesn't change

I love watching videos from KNOWLEDGEABLE creators like yourself, manes by mell, and curly Chelle! You're all hairstylists, so that explains a lot! I'm SO tired of people demonizing cones! For me, personally, I love the heat protection from a bit of silicone in a leave in as well as the ease of detangling. I don't go overboard & I make sure my hair is properly hydrated first, & I'm good to go! If I use butter heavy products, or God forbid WAXES, that stuff sticks to my hair like cement & it's no bueno. But one or 2 products each way day containing one or 2 lightweight silicones? No sweat. Readily washes off, & I don't personally need a harsh sulfate to clarify either. C14 olefin sulfonate works just fine as a clarifier, especially with ingredients like citric acid &/or trisodium diethylene succinate to help remove mineral deposits. It's all about what works for YOU!

Does hair benefit from good shampoo throughout the week if it's being washed once ever 5-7 days, or the benefits are only at the time of the washing❓ I think I have between 2b-2c so my hair tells me what it's gonna do and I feel it's pretty fine.
