I cut down to >3% carbs on my first day and I’m consistently under 5%. Had bad keto flu for 3 days then it went away. I eat once a day, and I am completely satiated. I have a keto yogurt and an avocado, and it seems to hold me over until the next day! I was actually kind of nervous like why I wasn’t feeling hungry eating so little. It’s actually kind of amazing how little you need to survive!

You are so right. Carbs are highly addictive. I attended a keto meet-up group that had just started up. It was supposed to inform participants how to do keto and and to support them. One person wanted to eat keto but only if she could find tasty substitutes for her high carb foods. She had tried keto recipes that mimicked bread, cookies, desserts, etc. but was constantly being disappointed at the taste. What she failed to understand, was that she had to kick those high carb foods out of her mind, in order to cure the addiction. Imagine trying to find a substitute for alcohol.

So many people are so addicted to carbs and sugar.... and they don't even know it and understand it... it's mind blowing... I just keep this in mind: If the why is clear, the how is much easier. Especially if you start to really feel the benefits of Keto and IF. I have personally never felt better... I feel cleaner! 👍🙏😊

I’ve been on keto for about nine months now, and I’ve managed to eliminate several of my medication’s, and I’m very dedicated to this and love lost a substantial amount of weight. But I’ve got to say I still crave sugar real hard sometimes, are used 80s triple fill cherry pastries with a glaze on top and I really miss it, dang it. But what I like more is looking much thinner, feeling much better.

Dr Sten. I have been following the KETO gurus for some time now and enjoy your particular presentations very much. The information which you describe is the best that we currently have available. You are, succinct and articulate in expounding our philosophy and methodology which is important for " newbies" and those who have lost their way. I am five years "KETO" and or "very low carb/carnivore", short term and "intermittent fasting. Good, stable health, with sufficient energy for any occasion is the payoff. Thank You, for you service to "HUMANITY" It has been very difficult to get other people to convert despite all the evidence staring them in the face.

Please tell me...what is so wrong with potato?
@lisaware9697 Жыл бұрын
@@grez6330potatoes are not vegetables--they are starches/carbs. They are converted into sugar very quickly, which raises blood sugar. The body then scrambles to either utilize these carbs as energy, ASAP, or must store as fat. Anything that raises blood sugar becomes an emergency for the body, it must lower blood glucose as quickly as possible.

When I started 4 weeks ago, I had a gout attack , it was the catalyst that spurred me on , I've lost 28 pounds and I can feel the arthritis pain diminishing ,40 yrs of crap food takes awhile to get rid of. The residues built up in your body need time to be released and autophagy needs to be induced regularly and persistently to maintain the healing , I expect it to take at least a year and this mindset is also helpful in maintaining my focus. I tell myself "Relax you're on the mend" ....`I eat better food but a lot less so my food bills haven't changed. Thank you Dr Ekberg , Dr Berry and Dr Berg you have helped me so much.

That was inspiring. I'm 2 months in and have def lost weight, but I wasn't doing it for that. I was doing bc I have leaky gut, RA, blah blah and wanted to see if I could mend myself (am on zero meds). I'm not really getting cravings - occasionally I get bored and stuff a handful of nuts in my face just for the heck of it. I want to start feeling AMAZING tho, as I think that will be really encouraging, but mostly I'm just meh, getting on with it, with the same physical symptoms I had before.

I've been IF for the past month, went to a staff party and disregarded my carb addiction and set off a battle this week. Been OMAD/TMAD still but the carb cravings are painful. Went overboard with bread(4 slices) and I have felt the inflammation return, my head all congested feeling and headache. So I know Keto/IF has given me a better quality of life and clarified when I choose to disregard my better judgement I will regret it.

Great advice as usual. My Achilles heel was white bread but I eased myself of that substituting with things i like (eggs for breakfast, mackerel salad for lunch etc) and then it's surprising how easy it was to cut the big ticket carb items out of your diet. You're right about progressive changes to as the next step was to skip breakfast and just have a black coffee or green tea. Coupled with a little more exercise I dropped from 14 stone to 12 stone in two months and felt a lot more energetic when doing long cardio workouts. Like you say it's all about a balanced approach diet, exercise, fasting when you bolt that all together you can make some huge improvements very quickly and it doesn't feel harsh on your system. I still like the odd beer though 🍺

You are a hero for this Health Champion. I have been able to go 30 to 48 hours easily for my fasts. Today I was walking around for a total of only 1.5mi & in pain (~a 5 to 7 range) from two recent falls. I got hungry, go figure. Yesterday I saw your drinks to have during my fasts. You came to my rescue! I'd just gotten some supplies from the food co-op. So I had some organic grass fed beef bone broth. I heated up less than a cup, added salt and pepper. Voila! I was sated. I may have a shorter fast today-- ~24+ hr but I'm already seeing great results: besides my B/P lowering? I have had these little cholesterol tags at the outer edges of both eyes for at least 3 yr. They have shrunk to almost nothing!!

I needed this sermon! I’ve been doing an 18/6. For the last 10 days, And craving chocolate! Ate 1/2 cup mixed grains two days ago, basically avoiding carbs. Could these keto chocolates be wrecking my low carb efforts. I feel ‘more compact’ , tighter belt, but the scales says plateau. I’m excited to see what my cardiologist says when he sees my next bloodwork. I’ve been doing Noom diet, the daily recording etc. has got me some good habits, but I frequently felt so hungry. Then I saw one of your videos, had my first bullet coffee - I’m converted! I’m still nooming, and the coach there is supportive! Excellent program- for behavioural modification! But Doctor your handle on the ‘science’, makes so much sense to someone with experience in the medical field.🙏

You just hit the nail of the head. After 2 days of intermittent fasting I just couldn't do another day without a piece of piece of yes healthy buy a seed bread but it was store bought didn't have alot of sugar or any white flour but it was made with oats and I guess some stuff. It seemed a good option. So now I'm taking it slowly. Still doing the fasting but only 2 meals a day and not eating (most days) after 600 at night.🤞🤞

I've cut out suger a long long time ago, went Mediteranian. Started KETOish and IF a year ago. When I went full on KETO cut grains a few months ago I felt a detoxification, actually felt good, not flu like. I'm also finding when I go off, as I had a craving for the taste and texture of chili cheese dogs, I ate them 2 days, then stopped. Felt satisfied, and didn't crave more. But thats just me. My main meal plans are 2MAD, 18/6, 20 carbs a day, 1500 - 1800 calories, and that is satisfying. My labs have improved 80%, insulin down 50% +/- ( yo yos). But no weight lose. Been more BBBE ( Dr. Ken Berry). Going back Mediteranian/KETO/IF salads, less meat protein, more eggs, more avocado and olives, less lactose, (Dr Debbie Gillespie) when I previously lost 60 lbs but my labs and insulin use didn't improve. I think the combination will give me the double whammy I need. PS I can have one drink no problem. Was on Codiene over 2 years, and had no problem weaning off. I think addiction is partly a physiological issue. Some are prone, some are not. Its not fair, but is what it is.

I am a keto induced mess right now. I have tried keto off and on for a year but it has just been an up and down roller coaster. I try hard for a day or two but then the symptoms hit; headache, tired, not sleeping. etc. I have five littles to make meals for and the confusion and stress of not knowing what to make for myself always crumbles my resolve. I usually cave before I get to fat burning (ketosis).I start each day determined, have my bullet proof coffee, wait until lunch to have my eggs and then feed the kids their food but as soon as I have the least little sugar or even a keto treat, I can't resist and binge all the things I had been resisting. Then I am eating a huge amount of calories and fat and am making more of a mess of myself then before. I feel so confused about what it is healthy and not healthy now. i feel like I am doing my body more harm them good with all of this "knowledge"

I started IF and keto diet last July. I did cold turkey, I experienced almost all symptoms of keto flu plus overall face acne breakouts I never experienced in my life. I have been craving for vegetables more than carb and sugar. I easily go over net carb 25 since I really crave for all kinds of low carb vegetables like green leaves, seaweed, tomatoes and vegetables I hated to eat since I was a kid. It is weird I never craved for vegetables before keto.

three hundred thousand plus, I hope to be watching when it passes one million subscribers. it’s a simple message- IR goes down as a result of cutting out carbs and reducing meals.

Should I give up using heavy cream in recipes and coffee? I have noticed I consume a lot of dairy- butter, cheese, sour cream, heavy cream, ghee and cream cheese. I look forward to these instead of carbs.

as always great advice , i have a question , I was never over weight im 59 years old , was 78kg ( 172 pounds ) and 186 cm ( 6' 1" ) when i started EOAD and keto , i feel great but started loosing weight down to 74.5 kg ( 164 POUNDS ) do you think i should go back to eating twice a day to gain a bit of weight, or just continue as is and see if my weight plateaus . so as to maintain the benefits of fasting . cheers

Only you can answer that question. If you feel good I wouldn't worry about losing a few pounds, but at the same time I think staying low carb is more important than how often you eat. The main benefit of fasting is to reverse insulin resistance, and if you are thin and your A1c and insulin are low you probably don't have an issue.

I remember a time when I could eat a bunch of sweets and a hell lotta chocolate without any issue, always craving for more. After starting keto/ low carb diet, eating more than 3 cubes of chocolate makes me wanna puke. I crave it after eating lunch (doing OMAD), but once I put a bit in my mouth it doesn't taste that good. Still eat it a bit, though, just to stop my brain from craving lol.

I hold dark chocolate pieces in the fridge for when the urge is there. Ones around 85% cacao. 1 or 2 pieces a month. I used to hate dark chocolate, but my taste buds changed and now dark chocolate tastes sweet. My test will be this first Halloween seeing snickers, Reese’s peanut butter cups and paydays.

I must admit I'm addicted to food, I can't seem to fast for more than a day. I did manage 50hrs fasting but I guess that was just a fluke. I have emersed myself in most of your KZbin videos and for the most part I understood them. I have yet to fully make the transition to low carb, I seem to be in a vicious cycle of fasting for autophagy, getting one day then faltering then eating a high carb meal like a plate full of Mexican rice with madras sauce and grated cheese. I'm a vegetarian and I find I'm very limited for meal options. I have three meals to alternate, Omelette, veg namely broccoli, cauliflower and Brussel sprouts and a bag of mixed salad. the variety is just not enough, but as for eating anything that had a heart beat crosses my philosophy about life, I would much rather die than take another life to sustain my own. I seemed to hit a plateau early on which I haven't beaten yet. I have to go into autophagy to create stem sells to aid in the regrowth of my hippocampus, and yes I have memory problems due to mild onset of dementia and I smoke and have type two diabetes, I feel like it's an up hill struggle that my time is running out before I lose my mind to dementia, I find that use it or lose it part of activation very difficult and my sleep is terrible sleeping one night in every two days, I'm also on antipsychotic medication that reduces my concentration to roughly ten minutes and try's to shut my mind down 24/7 that's why I have to repeat watch all your vids to get the information to stick in my head. lets face it I'm doomed

You can slow down/reverse IF you want it bad enough. If you keep saying, “I am doomed” you will be! Start w/your mindset.
