My 14 month old baby will fall asleep independently for all of her day time sleeps, pretty reliably... and knows how to fall asleep in her pack n' play without assistance. We tried night training her and she KNOWS the difference between her daytime naps and when it's bedtime. She will happily go down for all of her naps, but Heaven forbid you try to put her in her own bed between the hours of 7pm-4am. She wakes up after 20 minutes of sleep after an hour of hysterical/hard crying. She refuses to fall back to sleep in her cot alone at night after waking, at 6 months old she stayed awake from 3am-6am! She has great independent sleeping skills but is completely allergic to her own sleep space only at night. This has been an ongoing problem since we sleep trained her at 6 months old.

SO sorry you hare having such a hard time. We have definitely worked with kiddos like this before! Couple of thoughts, do you have a bottle, pacifier or rocking as part of your bedtime, even if she's not asleep from either, start there with removing those.

Could you give any advice on how to stop nursing to sleep while cosleeping?I would love her to fall asleep in her crib and not need me to fall asleep during day naps,so I can work from home a little, I don't have a rocking chair, and my babe doesn't fall asleep on hands(she did before but in 1 day decided she s over it) now ONLY lying down nursing beside me. She turned 7 months,it's my 1st baby, and I realised my mistake of not getting my partner involved early enough in helping her to fall asleep,even with pumped bottle would be great(I'm exclusively breastfeeding). Me and her sleep in her nursery on another bed..so that we don't bother his sleep, since he works..I don't really know where to seek advice.

Dear Janet. Thank you so much for your kind words!! We are mission to empower parents and revolutionize "sleep teaching" over "sleep training.' Your words mean so much to us!! Thank you!

My 9 month automatically wakes up every time I try to put him down in his crib to sleep any suggestions
@HelpingBabiesSleep Жыл бұрын
This is very very common - sleep is a learned habit, so he's used to falling asleep in arms and associates with sleep there and then.. who wouldn't prefer to sleep in a parents arms. What a lovely place to sleep. He will continue to wake up on put down as his brain notices his position in space. You have to work on avoiding the transfer by getting him to fall asleep in the place he's going to be sleeping. We have a step by step approach to this in our amazon best seller: The Helping Babies Sleep Method: www.amzn.com/B08WQ2J8MZ

This did not teach me anything. And the reasons for transitioning is not true. My baby sleeps through the night when she’s sleeping with me. I just want her to sleep independently during nap and night times.

Is it safe to start at 3 months old??
@HelpingBabiesSleep Жыл бұрын
The safest place for a 3 month is indeed in a crib, so yes.

How do you consolidate feedings? I breastfeed and baby has always been a snacker. She is 9 months.
@HelpingBabiesSleepАй бұрын
You decide what an appropriate time to feed is and you decide. You move away from feeding on demand. If she feeds on demand all day in the daytime, then she'll expect to do so at night. So work on daytime and night time. But this also puts you into a little sleep teaching if feeding to sleep is her sleep association. IN my book or online class I teach you how!
