I have an 05 Silverado ext. cab. The doors were noisy on mine because the weather strip had flattened. Instead of adjusting the doors, I followed a trick from another video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKechaVsirikqbc I fished Frost King Caulk Saver through the weather strips. The caulk saver is a tubular foam material that comes in a package of 20 feet@$3.00 a pack. Buy 2. I used some 1/16" steel cable (you could use any flexible,small diameter material)taped it to the cable and pulled the foam through the little vent holes on the back side of the weather strip. In the video, they used silicone grease to lube up the foam to make it easier to pull it through the little vent hole. I was afraid of getting grease all over the interior. I used corn starch and gold bond powder. It took a couple hours. No more rattles! I'm going to attack the windows that rattle when open, next, then the headliner, then the leaking steering box...

Good evening from Ukraine!I have Silverado 2010 4.3L RWD. What Best winter tires?Ordinary or studded ? Thank you!!!
@AnthonyJ350
@AnthonyJ350 5 жыл бұрын
There's Silverados in the Ukraine!? I would run studded (if legal in your area) and use a skinnier tire like a 245 70R 17 and make sure to put weight in the back of the truck. If the snow is really bad air down the tires to get more grip.

Ya those tires won't do well in the snow. You need an all terrain with the snowflake symbol like the General Grabber atx, bfg ko2, or the Goodyear Duratrac.

Great! Thanks! I have an 06 Silverado with the clam shell and I really, really, (really!) like it. A couple of Questions. Should you clean the old thread lock off before the new application? And, Will this reduce the wind noise I'm getting on my drivers side? I thought it would be in the weather stripping. I have not considered adjusting the catches. Thanks for that. Have been subscribe for awhile. We have two vehicles in common. Mine are the 04-350 Z, (roadster and the 06 Silverado, (long bed, off road). I am tremendously interested the police concept upgrades to the truck. Now I want to upgrade mine in that vein. Have you made videos on that? I'll check your video page and see. Also ,also.., I want the best fore and aft dash cam set ups. Please do a post on which ones are best for the two vehicles. (I'll also check your page for that.) Thanks and keep up the good work. Wish you were here to do a walk-around and advise on my vehicles. Best wishes. (oh ...here is South Carolina. If your ever this way...)

Thanks for watching! For dash cams look into Thinkware or Blackvue. Those are the 2 brands we install the most of at the shop. I'll probably do an overview of all the "Police Upgrades" when they're all done. Really all that's left is to do the police grade calipers which use different internals to handle repeated hard stops. Best part is these parts don't cost much more and you can get them from the dealership or rockauto.com Here's some videos you might be interested in: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lZylemmYjJ10r5I kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYKTm6ajptiaaMk

You don't have to clean the old thread lock off. I just reapplied new stuff and hand threaded it first to make sure it doesn't cross thread then use an impact or torque wrench to tighten them.
