First, that is a straight 4 cylinder, not a V-4! Second, I never buy parts online, EVER! Nor would I ever give any business to Scamazon! I use local parts dealers such as AutoZone, Advance, O'Reilly's or NAPA! That way, if I have any problems or warranty issues, I have a living breathing body with which I can deal, in person! No overseas call centers involved! Whenever possible, I will use factory parts from the dealership because although they are more expensive, they are the correct part every time and I know they will work and last far longer than anything made in China! For the most part, this was well done. I truly appreciate your concern for safety and for knowing your limitations. That is most commendable. Your son now has a very reliable and safe car that will last for years. I have a 1999 Camry 4 cylinder that has 360K on it and it's still running strong. You could not have made a better choice.

Auto part retailers charge upwards of 100% markup on many items. I have had no issue buying parts online from Rockauto. Been working on my cars for over 14 years this way. That's not to say I don't use Orielly and NAPA, but Rockauto is amazing too. 2002 Toyota Sequoia 4.6L - 253k 2002 Toyota Camry 2.4L - 265k

great video thanks for sharing. i wanted to ask you how are the motor mounts holding up? how many miles so far and did they stop all the vibrations and rough feeling idle shakes. i have a 95 camry 2.2L and i was looking at the same mounts prior to watching your video and i was like hey he used the same mounts i was looking at.
@diypotentials11 ай бұрын
Thanks for reaching out. The motor mounts are holding up well with lots of miles added, no issues since they were installed. Thanks again.

You need to change the rear control arm bushings or grease them

I have this car and my engine shakes every now and then and it has troubles accelerating, sometimes when the car is stationary, it shuts off, you think if change the spark plugs and spark plug wires it will fix the problem?
@diypotentials2 жыл бұрын
If the engine shakes, most likely the engine mounts are worn. I replaced, the spark plugs, spark plug wires and spark plug coils, solved my misfires problems. Troubles with accelerating, you might explore issues with transmission and issues with vehicle shutting off, you might explore issues with cam sensors…Best of luck 🍀!!!

wow, you must be a mechanic! I have a 98 camry.. 4 cyl. 240k on it. recently i changed the a/f sensor and now i need to do air intake hose because that's ripped in the middle. but the reason i looked up motor mount is because when i shift gears, Reverse to Drive or whatever else, just once in a while it sort of gets caught in something when i'm shifting.. do you think that's related to the motor mount?
@diypotentials2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. I'm not a mechanic, but I love fixing things around the house, including cars. For your question, it does not sound like a motor mount problem at all. You might want to search KZbin for gear shifting problems or stuck gear. Hopefully you can find a video or two that might be helpful. Good luck!

It is likely the rear Trans feed to the props is needing new or more Trans fluid. The Trans stick does not show this level as it is separate. Learned the hard way.

Uhm I needed the back motor mount on how to do
@robertvanderbaan3722 Жыл бұрын
You need the same set up for holding and raising engine. Also 17mm deep socket for all three nuts, and top bolt. Top bolt is tricky but I used a 4 inch extension to 1/2 inch socket with size down 1/2 to 3/8 elbow, then angle with extension to breaker bar. Feed through center between engine and charged air cooler. The bottom three are easy just look hard. Any questions let me know. My camry is a 2000 with 330. I also put the tire under the car just in case. Have a pipe to make it easy as well.
