Overreacting is not good. BUT stating facts and using the lantern stance is often met with blaming responses. I have noticed that people really do tend to think that if what you say causes a negative emotion in the them, that what you said was bad, which is wrong. Stating facts, repercussions, problems in a matter of fact decent way without being aggressive should be a good thing (if it's not too much negative feedback) however many people do not want the negative feedback and they blame their negative emotions on the person stating the facts. Makes solving problems that others choose to ignore hard.
