Haven't we all been "emotional vampires" at points in our lives? It would be one thing if you were like this all of the time, but what if someone is going through some grief, etc. You might have to set boundaries...."protect yourself" more during those times because people can be "a downer" when they are down, right? A lot of folks already know they are "sucking energy" when feeling this way, so they are also likely isolating and it can make it a catch 22. "Never tell a controller what to do." Great advice!

You have to limit your contact with anybody who leaves you feeling drained. These people feed off of you and never stop. Set boundaries but avoid these people. It's best to just not be around them.

I haven't even seen a therapist yet. I will soon. In the meantime through a Facebook group about God. I didn't know it was Mormons and that's ok. I think they get a bad shadow cast on th from society. But a missionary from there and I started talking. This was only a year later after even joining the group. Right away this girl helped me. She didn't judge me. I told her just about everything. I have cptsd and only recently found out. I told her about my addictions. My marriage. What it was like all my life to have something I didn't even know about. Some of the reasons I believe I have cptsd and she was so understanding and helpful. After a couple weeks I even decided to quit smoking marijuana and alcohol. She has helped me a lot. But I'm not sure why. She had another missionary join her so I'm supposed to talk to both. Which gave me a slight uneasiness about it but ignored it and said ok. Today she mentioned that there are also people in my city too and that if I want she could set something up sooner than Saturday. Today is Tuesday. I had already had some slight paranoia about abandonment but after she said that. I fealt like I had just been abandoned. That I was back on my own. I don't want to put any pressure on her. She doesn't owe me anything but she regularly helps people from what I gather and I was on day 2 off weed and alcohol. Going through symptoms already of extreme tiredness. All of a sudden I can't sleep. I don't blame her. It's not her fault. Maybe she just thought I would get help better or more often here. I'm not sure I've thought about so many things. Maybe she thought I have a crush on her. Who knows. I was very happy with how chearful she is, how she doesn't judge me. She recognizes my struggles but also see,s my will and the good in me. And she motivates me. Well now I can't sleep so I know how the person in this video must feel. I actually have an appointment for a few days from now with her so she didn't abandon me but I feel horrible. I don't think she means to do that. But cptsd is a horrible way to live. I worry that everyone will abandon me. Maybe I just to have strength within myself. But it was so much easier with her. And she has no idea that she made me feel bad, I think. Lol I'm still going to try to stay strong. Cptsd is the worst. I also need my sleep. I wake up extra early for work and I don't miss work. And I'm having bad symptoms from just quiting my substance abuses cold turkey. 2nd day in I feel horrible right now.

There are effed up people out there who know they’re on bullsh**. There truly is a such thing as good people and bad people…people who are INTENTLY bad and they will tell you this themselves. Some people you just distance from, get away from them or them away from you. Period.

I think that therapists that force transfers need to be tracked. To many they get suspended six months. It's bs period. The therapist is supposed to be the adult in the room and offer are the one getting triggered or a biases that is getting triggered.

I think we underestimate how important evolutionary psychology plays a part. Humans stock away things in case lean times come in which those possessions may aide in their survival. Of course, the worst cases of hoarding where most of the possessions serve no purpose is about people having a hard time letting go, and that includes letting go of emotions and sometimes even trauma from their past. Or because those objects symbolically represent some sort of "value" and since time is money to alot of people, having tons of possessions makes up for the fact they have a limited amount of time left in life. As if having a lot of stuff is going to give them more time. People are anxious not knowing how much time they have to live and having no idea about when the hour of their death will be. Deeply subconscious stuff... People can even hoard money and have very little possessions, all for the same reasons. Because they think a lot of money is going to make up for the uncertainty of how much actual time they have until they die. These things cause people great anxiety and distress.
