I remember those days. They're so hard! But with loving consistency you'll have a great dog one day. What breed?

I had a big issue with my cattle dog nipping at the kids, obviously the breed is notorious for nipping because of what they are bred for. I came across a video you did a while ago on this physical interruption/correction so decided to give it a go. Worked a treat! it didn't ruin my relationship with her she just got the message that what she was doing was no acceptable and she almost completely stopped. We still have the occasional instance where she will get excited when the kids are running around and will go to mouth but as she's never left with the kids without supervision and now a simple audio correction from me and she stops immediately.

i have a mini american shepard 7 months old and a full size aussie 2 years old... also a mutt 6 years old. The mini american shepard and the aussie do sheep herding.. see if u can link up with a farmer in your area. the cattle dog is about the same size as my aussie but the farmer uses my full size aussie to help with the cows too the mini is up on a horse with the farmer due to his size he is 23 pounds so he is too little. the mutt watches with me she never decided to jump in and help.. lol

@@kc-n-sassy yeah I’ve had my girl in with sheep once and she loved it trouble Is I wasn’t able to find anywhere or anyone who would let us come on a semi regular basis so instead I have a hearding ball she absolutely loves and I’ve actually also trained her as a gundog 😂 it took some time and A LOT of work but she loves it now. I could be wrong but I’m gunna say possibly the worlds only Cattle Gundog 😂😂

@@oneminuteremainingpodcast5121 yeah randomly the farmer will come get my dog..lol. Funny story.. my aussie was at the farmers during deer season and me and my mutt were just waiting for a deer to come in to get a good shot.... we saw sheep run past us and well... lol

I'm so glad I came across your channel today! We have got to the end of our first week with our beautiful German Shepherd girl Rosa, and your videos and updates on Reggie are going to be a huge help going forward as they are the same age. We have mastered a lot already and I'm excited for future training! Thank you!

Wish I had this video a year ago. Verbal exaggerated “owww” really helped me with my lab puppy. Small thing from my vet sis in law - no rope toys with frilly ends. She removes masses from inside the dog’s stomach. Expensive surgery.
@____359518 күн бұрын
@@beauchang4741 the purpose is to interrupt the behavior by startling them, if the oww is exaggerated enough, it ends up being the same thing

Will! I'm so glad I found you and your channel before I got my GSDmix 6 months ago. You've influenced our lives positively in so many ways. No puppy biting in our house! I'd love to see a "day in the life" video of you/reggie/sully/the fam--while I know you work quite a bit, I'd love to see your daily home routine with your pups once Reggie settles into your home. As a worker-from-home, I'm curious to see how the professionals handle their own pups when they are busy people themselves (sometimes I wonder if I spend too much time with my dog???). AGAIN, THANK YOU!

I've been training dogs for over 20 years and have just got a Bull Terrier who's 9 weeks and some breeds are certainly easier to manage than others. I've had a Gsheps Pit bull Amstaff Frenchie Rottie and a Husky and I dont remember any of them being this stubborn and persistent ( Husky was a bit and so was the french BD but not at this level ). But thats why I chose the breed to begin with. GL to all pup owners and especially the Bull Terrier pups out there!

I’ve got a 9 week old Staff. (I’ve had Staffs previously) Hes relentless with biting. I’ve watched your videos weeks before I brought him home in preparation and thought I’d have biting nailed but I haven’t. Neither have my wife and 9 yr old who he terrorises at certain times. These techniques aren’t working (yet) but it’s ongoing training and I will succeed. He has a multitude of toys and chews which he loves but he also loves coming off those and onto hands. He also loves biting our feet so walking about is a problem. 😂 Crate, toilet and simple obedience training is all going well thanks to your videos. 👍

But puppy biting and over stim biting is a problem tho she just doesnt react to the corrections. Can you help out ? Or refer to a video talking about this.

Do you have any advice or experience about introducing a Labrador puppy into our home where we already have 2 cats? My partner is very nervous about putting the cats in harms way, and we want to do everything in our control to make sure it’s safe for all. Love your content!! Thanks so much!

My eight week old lab black lab has started biting and nipping. But for some reason he bites my wife allot more than me . But tonight he really bit into her and made her cry. I put him straight into his crate and comforted my wife. I’ve had labs all my life and we have always rescued labs from shelters. This is our first time ever having one from a puppy and are not used to this kind of behaviour from a Labrador. I’m going to try your technique in the morning and throughout the day .

I find puppies tend get more nippy if they havent had a lot of sleep and puppies need a LOT of sleep. Also be firm, theyre masters at finding out who the "weakling" is. Is your wife as firm as your are? If she is more leniant, then the dog will pick up on that and will try and get away with more.

Hello, Puppies are not all the same ; I have now my 6 th boxer, 5 months old and never saw such a hurricane ! She bites everything : the hands, the arms, my legs, my face ! the shoes, ....She jumps so high that I can never give correction. I tried all I could : toys, orders, separation outside or other room, I do n 9:32 ot like e collard. When I am able to take her by the collar, she goes crazy and I stop not to hurt her. Training every day and intensive training in November. But I would really undo this problem myself....... Of course she is playing, she is happy....and I just have to wait that time passes... she is so nice and full of affection...😊 Thanks for reading this long mail
@kc-n-sassyАй бұрын
so basically your waiting for the behavior to go away? I have a 7 month old mini american shepard and if he was that crazy i'd be rethinking my training really fast. I swore i'd never put a prong collar on a smaller dog... i did it though 2 slight corrections got his attention and we resumed his walking. all it took was 2 1/2 inch corrections and he stops and looks up at me. waiting for the next direction from me or my husband. he was 20 pounds and i used a micro 1.5 prong collar he still wears it when we go out but i don't hook to it usually but if we need to use it we just hook on to it. he is now 25 pounds. i asked the vet about the gentle leader he showed me an xray where a dog had to be put down or live on pain pills it ruptured stuff in the dogs neck.. dont use that for sure. the vet actually told me to use the prong collar i use them on my big dogs but they distribute even pressure around the dogs neck. if used properly it would work faster than a slip lead.
