Yes the club face has to be cutting across the ball as part of imparting the spin. Literally why it's called a "slice," like you were slashing with a sword (obviously not that extreme).

interesting at the end he says the draw 'fells like a kind of funny swing' meaning strange - we all assume they go for the draw but most pro's opt for the fade - more control I guess

He’s talking about his hands when he says out to in… he starts with them out and brings them inside… still swings in-to-out… interesting way of describing his feel.
@Rocksteady365mac9 ай бұрын
Yea think he means the swing plane from the top. So hands in on the backswing and out on the downswing for a fade. Almost over the top. Not an In-to-out swing which we’d all understand as a draw swing
@jwild53609 ай бұрын
@@Rocksteady365mac no. In to out with an OPEN face creates a fade. It’s a push fade. Tons of guys on tour hit this. Mcilroy is a prime example.

He means in on the way back and out on the way down 😊
@Rocksteady365mac8 ай бұрын
@@jwild5360not sure about that. Min woo definitely isn’t hitting push cuts. He starts the ball left as his arms come over the top slightly (even though the shaft shallows). I think he’s saying his hands are in on the backswing and out on the way down to pull the ball left and cut it back
@jwild53608 ай бұрын
@@Rocksteady365mac potentiallly so he’s very neutral. Lots of those guys who hit a very small fade are hitting push fades. Rory is a prime example. My guess is his path is still around 1 degree in to out when hitting a baby fade. That how you hit up the ball and fade it with low spin.

Ok folks I got u… face to target a club path relationship 101.. ball starts 100percent where the face is pointed at impact. What makes it curve is the club path , your in to out or out to in. Now he explained a lot but let me clarify a lil bit. To hit a proper draw the face actually has to be open at impact so let’s say 2degrees open, the path has to come in to out more degrees let’s say 4 degree path. That’s how it will start to the right an come back left. Now you heard him say he hits fades coming from the inside which is not over the top. Meaning for him to hit that fade his face to path is pretty much reversed so his stock would be 4degrees open at impact and 2 degrees in to out , ball will push right an won’t comeback left because the face was more degrees open than what the club path was. So technically it’s a push fade. Now for his draw you heard him say face is closed witch is true but face is closed relative to path so more degrees in to out like 8 degrees but at impact the face is 2 degrees, ball will curve more to the left. Hope this clears it up for folks who just watched this. Min who is awesome player an definitely one of my favorites

@jwild53609 ай бұрын
@@dsc-nr5zy yes he mixed up out to in path and hitting draws that was very clear. He didn’t mix up anything about how he hits fades tho. He hits push fades in to out path with an open face. Just like Rahm. Just like Rory. They all hit push fades they don’t hit brooks fades or dj fades with an out to in path. No it’s not the shortest fade bc they are hitting up on the ball with driver bc they are hitting the ball with an in to out path (push fade) so they are not fighting spin nearly as hard as your guys like brooks who hits down and left on driver. Rory 120 mph 3 degrees inside 4 degrees open 4 degrees up 2200 spin 320 carry. DJ 120 mph 2 degrees outside 2 degrees open 1 degree down 2600 spin 295 carry. That’s what the numbers look like.

The sound of the driver-- and I mean how you've recorded the audio-- is doing no favors to the product. Sounds like flicking a piece of plastic with your fingernail. I think folks expect tour quality audio of the swings and I'm sure the bigger the driver sound, the more powerful we think it is.... which must translate to sales. Anyway, I've applied to a few jobs at Callaway in the video department to no avail, but would love to solve this for you. Thanks!
